Discontinued Omicron Vaporizer for oils

nosmoking

Just so Dab HAppy!
Just a wild guess but I assumed the coils @THC SCIENTIFIC was referring to are w9 coils that are in development and yet to be released...guessing the same names are a coincidence...once again, just a guess...
I was hoping so but I did some research before I posted anything. Its confirmed that they are the same on Reddit by @THC SCIENTIFIC unless I misread things somehow...

I was really hoping for a deep walled ceramic cup atomizer with great airflow and large load capacity.

If the stamped numbers on the bottom of the battery are dates, I don't think this would be a 1st run... 08/16 CE.

I have not yet opened any tickets, working my ass off and now going out of town for a ball buster trip at 5am and I just have not made the time to get it done yet.

FYI and I don't know if this has already been shared here yet. I also don't know when it started and how long it will last. They don't provide that info with the coupon code that is active right now. Maybe make those purchases sooner. In the US I would jump on it because shipping should be free on a vaporizer and with 35% off you're laughing.

@ w9tech.com
https://www.w9tech.com/promotions/

If you use the code "uptech" at checkout you will get 35% off your purchase of many of their popular vapes. Though it only seems they are currently selling the v4

I just decided to jump in and take a plunge hoping this will be good enough. The v4 with shipping to Canada and the 1400mah battery cost me roughly $80 Canadian.

Great deal from what I could research. Locally they are all $100 plus tax so I'm happy with my late holiday purchase. I want to take some oils on the go and also maybe have some flexibility to manage the temp better for lower temp dabbing and etc.

I'm hoping there are lots of attachment available for the life of the unit. The lifetime warranty also made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Other manufacturers should take note of this. Unless you produce crap, lifetime warranties shouldn't be a huge issue in the long run.

Omicron v4 1400mah here I come. I hope it gets here quickly. Anyone know where they ship from? I'll find out tomorrow when it ships anyway.

FYI the Cannopus and Sirius are available for sale now. The don't appear to be what you linked at all. Looks like a ceramic barrel e-cig coil but using black ceramic and Ti wire. I've seen something similar that was a DIY build but using a white ceramic barrel and SS wire.

Just grabbed some from w9tech.com. Can't wait to try these!

Nice, I need to go check out the website and see how they work. I'm guessing from the pic both versions have ti gr2 coils as the heating elements right? With a ceramic barrel around it? Is the difference between the 2 vertical vs horizontal?

On oilvaporizer.com they are in the saionara coil section, but on w9tech is says it works with the alpha centauri. It works with both versions of the ac right? I've never heard of the saionara base before.

Definitely excited to try these.

Well he Sirius coil looks perfect. I'm assuming they are pretty much the same with just the orientation of the coil/ceramic turned?

They are not the same oilvaporizer.com commission the saionara coils for that purpose only as they are moving towards more of a multiple product line, the coils listed on w9tech.com are made for our Kiss Alpha Centauri oil systems.

yes both the same but both offer different attributes.

The Canopus heats up faster then Sirius but i guess it will up to your preference.

Can you elaborate on attributes of each? Have seen no descriptions yet...

Sure can, to me the Sirius is a piece that can load more then the dual coils it is designed more to evenly heat up your oil and provide the best taste, for the Canopus it is more a hybrid of the Sirius and a single coil where it provides vapor instantly yet preserves more of the taste.

@limbs still preferres the Duel coil over this and the Hercules over the Duel coils.

I guess it's preference but I like the Sirius a lot I use that as my daily tester for batteries being shipped out.

They both use Our titanium grade 2 wires and crimp technology.

I hope this helps.

Speaking af batteries I have a faulty Omicron button. I have spoken to Victor and started a ticket for it and have heard nothing. I try to call Victor to follow up and I get Ralph who, frankly needs to step up his knowledge of your product line if he is going to fill Sam's shoes as a tech advisor.

Can you see what is going on with this? I believe ticket number 3551 is it.

Thanks, Mike

I received my omicron yesterday and had some nice tasty rips. This morning a few wisps and then nothing. Dead already? There is no yellow light on mine either. What is the expected life span of these heaters?

The Cannopus was exactly what I linked, however the Sirius I was wrong on.

@THC SCIENTIFIC _ Does the airflow come from the bottom of these atomizers? Is the ceramic completely sealed or do these atomizers leak through the connecting pins after heavy use?

Yes air flow is from the bottom but with the bigger surface area i have yet to see one drop of oil from my tester that is used about 10 times a day to test batteries.

But then again this isnt real world testing it is just my experience, im sure @limbs can chime in as he has one as well to test.

@THC SCIENTIFIC Got my replacement Omicron battery today. Super prompt service from Ralph. As soon as I called to check on it the ticket was brought up and he took right care of it. Thank you for sending the smaller LD battery! That will fit my wife's small pockets.
About the battery. Nice upgrade on the button. I like the metal button and the hole for the light much better!
I only have one small problem. I almost wish my other battery would mess up more so it would get replaced as well. Other than turning on at random in my pocket it works fine. I don't seem to have a way to make that happen on video

What does the v1.0 on my batteries mean? I see the new one has a date instead.

Thanks guys!

Mike

@THC SCIENTIFIC So my order was promptly delivered on Saturday. Thanks for the fast shipping! Also the Ophos gift was a really nice surprise!

I've been playing with the Sirius but struggling a bit to get great results. I started in temp control on a Joyetech mod (eVic VTC Mini). I set the TCR to 352 which is what I also use for the Ti Gr 2 dual coils. I set the temp to 370 F and a max power of 12w on the mod. There isn't much vapor production at all. Even at the end of a full 10 second cycle I am not getting much.

What are your recommendations for how to use this in temp control? I can also try on a different mod if you would like. I have multiple mods with the Joyetech chip and also the DNA chips.

So I settled back to power mode although I must admit it feels like going back to the stone age of vaping! I tried several different wattage settings ranging from as low as 8w up to 15w. I'm struggling to find the "best" setting. I ended up using 12w and pulsing. Flavor is not where I was expecting it though especially compared to the EHD Ti dual coils.

I got a bunch of the Canopus coils but have not tried them yet.

I'd also point out my first Sirius coil seemed like something was wrong with it. I did few pulses dry to burn off any manufacturing residues as usual. A really foul order came off. I then tried loading it with some concentrate and vaping and it tasted like car exhaust. Immediately stopped and switched to a new coil. No such issues with the second coil.

I disassembled the first coil and took some pics. I didn't see anything visually wrong with it though. At least not obvious to me.

Edit: I guess looking again it seems like the right leg on the coil is kind of blackened or charred almost? Check out the difference in color compared to the left leg of the coil?

I got one of each Friday, they're pretty amazing. I intentionally overloaded the Sirius 3 times in a row and finally managed to get a tiny amount of oil to run down the air path. In normal use, I can't imagine it'll ever leak. The new wicks are ridiculously absorbent. (It takes quite a bit of material to fully saturate the wicks)

The Canopus - It tastes extremely clean and neutral. I was running it with low power 1-5sec pulses. The oil pools up around the wick and slowly feeds in. It's the perfect, take on long walks cart. As long as I don't heat it too much the flavor stays pretty much the same throughout the entire bowl. The flavor is better than dual carts in my opinion. It is easy to use too much heat and get that burnt oil wire taste though. You can make either it last, or heat up the whole thing in a few delicious puffs.

The Sirius - It works and tastes pretty much the same if you keep the power low, however when you crank it up, something incredible happens. This thing turns into an absolute beast. You can load massive cover the whole top sized globs and this thing eats them up and spits them out with no issue. Flavor does go down a tiny bit at those temps, it kind of reminds of me a torched nail taste.

I've been using the Sirius today at reasonable temps and so far I've had absolutely zero splatter inside my nibbler AC. Not a single little droplet. (I can't say the same about any other w9cart I've ever owned) So far I'm a fan, the new wicks are pretty incredible. Both of these coils can produce massive clouds and taste so dang neutral and clean.

*Note This is without TC as I wasn't able to get it to work.
