After meticulously reading all of the posts in this thread, I have pulled the trigger and ordered a Blue Davinci IQ from the manufacturer. Stealth was my first choice, but it didn't look like they had them in stock. Plus, it will be nice to have the IQ kinda match my Blue FF2.

I went with standard USPS Priority shipping. Hopefully, I get the device sooner than later. I also went ahead and hopped over to imrbatteries to snap up three of their Sanyo NCR18650GA 3500mAh 10A Flat Tops to use as backups. Fortunately, I already have a nitecore D2 charger, so I should be set. I was super close to getting the Nectar Collector Honeybird Combo, but decided to wait. My birthday is around the corner and I am hoping we get another shot at a survey for $20.

This should really help round out my collection, even though things are getting a bit out of control.

Desktops: Volcano Digital, Herbalizer, Plenty
Portables: Mighty, Crafty, Grasshopper Ti, MFLB and soon the IQ

I love the options and that I can switch things up at any time. It will be interesting to see how the IQ switches up my rotation.

Let me know how you like the IQ compared to the Mighty in general. Interested from someone with both.

Will do. I love my Mighty. It has been my go to for quite a while. I can't wait to do the Pepsi Challenge with these two.

I have been on the fence about buying a mighty for years. I really want to like it but for the life of me I can't figure out why they don't produce one with a door on the bottom to pop two 18650's in and out at leisure. I have heard so many good things about the mighty over the last year and a half that if they just made the batteries come out I would probably buy 2 or 3 of them.

...have both...the iq comes close to mighty...actually beats it in terms of lasting taste at high temps ...not by much though...really splitting hairs here...it's more stealth and small..that said you will never hear me denigrate the mighty..

I have a feeling I will end up saying the same thing.

It's worth grabbing one if you can. Even checking craigslist to see if you can get one on the cheap (that's how I got my Plenty). It's a great portable vape and I use mine all of the time. On the flip side, I have had to send one back to S&B because it gave me some issues. It is worth the effort though. I like the stealth factor with the Crafty, but always end up using the Mighty.

Woohoo! Ordered this morning, status changed to SHIPPED just now. There's a chance I will be trying out the IQ this weekend. I'll have to see what the tracking info says once it is updated.

The IQ hits feel much more full bodied than mighty hits.

The mighty is gentler on material and produces lighter AVB across the board.

The IQ looses to mighty in the department of efficiency and load options ATM...as well as being dry and wax compatible.

The convection on the mighty is good and produces different effects than conduction.

But that's about it. The IQ has a better build and time will tell if it will suffer the same fate of the mighty (having to be returned by alot of folks at some point)

The 10 year warranty on the IQ shows commitment...though I doubt I would use few vapes over the span of 10 years.

It comes to around 80 € more. Which is a lot currently contemplating to buy it from ebay....

Anyone have experience regarding importing stuff to Europe?

My two best friends! Some different points of view...

Mighty stays cooler overall; feels good and cool in your hand. You hand cradles the two batteries, and doesn't touch the heater in the middle, that makes a big difference. You can vape multiple sessions immediately. Easy dump/load using the bowl, effortless with capsules. My favorite feature is you can easily swap out to a new cooling unit (which after 2 or 3 bowls can get hot, as it retains all the heat). Doing this is like dropping an ice cube in your drink; super cool vapor. After another 2 or 3 bowls, I go back to the first CU, which has cooled off : )

With IQ, you can't really do multiple bowls in succession, because you have to wait for it to cool off a bit before you can dump out the first bowl! I use the flat mouthpiece, primarily because the first thing I want to do after finishing a bowl is lay it upside down, open up the back lid and let the heat out for a minute. You can't simply "tap" the herb out; you have to get in there with the poker WITHOUT burning your fingernail on the pearl, so a slight wait is necessary. I'd be curious to know if anyone dumps/reloads immediately. When I try that, I burn myself.

The ASCENT had the heat source at the bottom, so you could hold it from the top section and avoid the heat. Unfortunately with the IQ there's no way to avoid it. Best advice I read on this site was to hold it "loosely" and turning it to the side helps for less surface area (this technique works with stem, not flat mouthpiece)

I think the accessory we all need is some type of silicone sleeve, or strap. I have a thick rubber band wrapped around mine, it helps.

actually beats it in terms of lasting taste at high temps

Agreed; the IQ has some of the best tasting ABV in the business! This was similar in the ASCENT, it just keeps going and going! A part of your brain says "This herb is spent, I should probably dump, but- it still tastes good! This is where Davinci won, the long lasting flavor. That should be noted when talking about efficiency.

With the Mighty, the taste kind of hits a wall after while, and you know it's time to dump. I actually like that, keeps it real. The IQ almost fools you to keep going...

The Mighty hits harder, the phrase "bitch slap" has been used by several members here.
With the IQ, I cough less. Also, the low temps (310-340) are less irritating and very enjoyable with the IQ.

Hope these random observations helped, I would recommend owning both, as they really compliment each other!

@Davinci_vaporizer Thank you for your response but you did not clarify whether I will get brokerage/customs charges if I buy directly from you. This adds a ton to the cost as you know. Can you please answer that question.

I had an old business partner that owed me a lot of money for a long time. He would always tell me the money is coming 'at the end of the month'. When the end of the month came, he would say 'end of next month'.

This went on for 2 years. He had no idea how or when he was going to get my money. Your response on the timeline coupled with the lack of detail tells me that you really dont know when you will ship into canada. Ive been to this dance before. This is very disconcerting. If you could actually help me get your product this week without paying an extra $60 on customs/brokerage, I would appreciate it. I hope you will. Thanks for your time.

Hey! Yes we try and calculate and include the tax fees in your shipment when you place your order. In some cases we are unable to estimate costs and then they will need to be paid when the package is recieved.

A Happy New Year, All!

Does any one have Issues with a finicky turn-on, with the 5-click iQ.
Clean terminals, fully charged battery.

Suggestions, thoughts, would be greatly appreciated. Help.

The 5 clicks does need to happen rather quickly. We have heard the feedback regarding the Power On/Off feature and we will address that in the future with updates.

A little update about the Ole IQ.

Love the video! Thought your first video and review was very fair also but glad you did an update. Favorite line, "I sold my Pax2 to buy a Pax3, I bought the IQ instead."

I love the IQ, but I do not use it often. I just await an easy spacer option. On long weekends I can finish a compact packing, but most week nights I need something to let me pack a smaller bowl.

Coming soon!

One thing I notice, neither good nor bad, is that the IQ vapor runs on the cooler side. Compared to say the grasshopper, Crafty and pax 2. I'm pushing it at 430 degrees f and the vapor is surprisingly cool. What does this mean to me? It means that the flavor doesn't degrade as quickly over time as the the other vapes I mentioned. No harsh vapor with that nasty burnt popcorn flavor towards the end. If you really prefer smooth, cool vapor you will really enjoy this vaporizer.

If I had to make a general comparison I think this device is a pax2/Crafty hybrid in terms of flavor/ease of use/etc.

The IQ cools it's vapor incredibly well! The IQ has a longer air path than most vaporizers using the entire length of the device to cool the vapor. Also the flavor chamber and the mouthpiece design help to cool the vapor further.

This guy knows how to live!

hey i lost the metal stirer, dont see any for sale on davinci's site. anyone know how to obtain another please @Davinci_vaporizer

There should be a spare metal pick in the silicone key chain that came with your IQ. If you did want to purchase a spare the only replacement we have at the moment is the Davinci Key chain with tool.

They are the same metal picks the ascent uses. I'm sure you could pick some up if you don't mind the picks saying ascent instead of davinci (unless they changed the ascent picks too).

They are close but not actually the same. The IQ pick is longer to clean the holes at the bottom of your heat bowl and the angle of the hook end it different to be able to remove your Flavor Chamber lid.

So apparently Eu shipping has been delayed to Feb/March is that true? @Davinci_vaporizer
Damn I am so sad :(

Yes the Eu was expecting to have IQ's available by Mid-late January. It is looking more like Feb/March would be more accurate as far as when they would be able to ship any orders that you have with EU distributors.

Q&A @Davinci_vaporizer

Registering one's IQ entails a store credit from DaVinci?-- I have an iQ.

Owners of DaVinci and Ascents also get store credit? --I have both.

If so, what are the credit amounts. I am kinda loving my iQ
( with the Nectar Collector & Honey Bird Bubbler combo ), please.

I have admired DaVinci for its "Renaissance Man" Products.

Museum pieces 2B. :nod::clap::tup:

PS Disclaimer. 5-clicks excluded, of course! LOL

Seriously? Can anyone, preferably from @Davinci_vaporizer explain why this might be the case? If I can be assured I wont get customs or duty charges, Ill order one tomorrow.

Has anyone in Canada on this thread been charged duty/brokerage?

i must say like others here, that i am rally impressed by the device.

other thing is,
i went to the davinci page today,
to see what i could find for the 51$ store credit,
a credit they have mentioned when preordering,
now when i go to the rewards site, i see that i have 275 "points"
and if i use them i can get only a maximum of 20$ store credit for 250 points...?!?
@Davinci_vaporizer can you please clarify this, thank you.

I feel you brother, I had to pay around the same taxes. I think davinci don't pay this back at least because these are customs that must be paid when importing..

I preordered 3 devices at the same time, first I got davinci points for the money I spent, ~900$, but no preorder discount, after a while I got a store credit of 51$, only for a single device and the funny thing is the davinci points dissapeared ^^

My main question is do I get only 51$ for preordering 3 devices? mathematically I should get 153$, right? (I ordered for some friends of mine just with one account to safe shipping costs..)

Does anyone also ordered multiple devices?

Yes I preordered two devices and only received $51 credit.
EDIT: after checking again this morning I did in fact receive the credit for the surveys.

Yes I preordered two devices and only received $51 credit. I also did those surveys they posted here in the forums and never received the credit from those either.

It clearly sais on the website:

Owners of Ascent or DaVinci Classic vaporizers receive $51 in store credit when their IQ ships!*

*Offer limited to one per customer

So yes, you only get your 51 credit once, that's correct and should be this way.

Damn. I thought i got the right ones. Is there a better option? I know three or so were listed in the thread.
I have posted a thread about this but so far i have got no help. I searched for 18650 battery length and it seems there is some variability. But i have been waiting for the battery people to answer
