What about for drug testing? I gotta get a new job. 2 1/2 weeks in and 50ug tests still showing positive even after drinking detox supplements daily.

Concerned the cbd may do something there.
Depending on the kind of test and the source of your isolate, you'll have no problem. A true CBD isolate has no measurable delta 9 THC (this is what is usually being tested for in oral swab tests, urine tests look for delta-11 THC IIRC). The compounds have different boiling points and are also easily separated using various forms of chromatography. THC in a product labelled as having no THC should be very, very unlikely. It helps to buy something with test results.

Contact the vendor personally and politely inquire with them, letting them know that you are likely to be subjected to very sensitive drug testing for THC and you need their guarantee and test results to show no THC content. Let them know your job relies on the outcome of this test and of course you will take civil legal action in the unlikely event that you find that you have been misled about THC here. This should ensure that the vendor is honest and careful about any possible THC :)

Still, it really should not be a problem, I'm sure you'll find CBD isolate without THC ;)

Some stuff i pressed with a 2 ton arbor press. It always different quality in and out. I used temps around 200-230F and 30-1min press

This stuff buttered up nice after a day

I guess it is high time I shared some of my recent work. I've been pushing forward with my reconstituted full melt experiments and made my first batch for 2017. I made this from nothing but undabbable byproducts of full melt bubble hash processing. There is no rosin involved here at all, this is my own, new tek (Yes, all solventless! No, not sharing the method yet).

As you can see, it looks like wet sugar up close. To the naked eye, looks like any of my own 6 star full melt bubble hash. It smells like 6 star bubble too; a rich and complex mix of chocolate, cured-hash cream, orange toffee and vanilla.

This is a thick slab, so look at the edges for an idea of what it looks like when you can see through the material (the light really reflects off of the thick parts due to the terpy wetness) :D

I am actually preferring this to some of my recent 6 star full melts!

Pretty sure I have heard that CBD can actually be metabolized somehow by the body into THC (or into byproducts which are detected as cannabinoids in a drug test). I am not a science guy so I can't explain it, but I would recommend @psychonaut maybe check out r/CBD on reddit as I am pretty sure that people there have failed drug tests while using hemp derived CBD.

Also just curious is your new method cheap or is specialized equipment required? Looking forward to you spilling the beans on that one.

There will most definitely be folks who have failed sensitive THC tests from 'hemp derived CBD' products for a large number of reasons. One major reason is that industrial hemp is a plant just like any other and the chemical content varies both within and between plants. For crude extracts (by definition, not CBD isolates!) this can mean that a concentrate may have a measurable amount of THC which resulted from concentration of the negligible THC found in the hemp cultivar.

IIRC Mechoulam and a colleague or two isomerized CBD into THC back in the 60's using solvents that should never be used at home (such as the carcinogen benzene!!!!) or by unqualified chemists who cannot remove the solvents/additives. However, the body does not convert CBD to THC in any way that I have ever heard of.

A CBD isolate processed using now well-known methods with a valid certificate of authenticity to show providence that it has undergone appropriate testing and returned no THC can be relied on not to give you a positive THC test :) Those test results are crucial though IMO.

My method requires some special equipment and sensitive/frustrating initial configuration which will rule it out for a lot of folks doing it themselves at home.

However, it is something that could eventually allow dispensaries etc to stock much more high quality solventless full melt and more affordably at that! This is because with traditional methods, high quality full melt bubble hash has very low yields. The best stuff doesn't necessarily even make it to a dispensary; since the extract artist, their buddies and the dispensary staff have often all had the first picks lol.

My technique means there's more dabbable full melt from the same run and therefore more chance that some of that product will make it to the patients and customers :)

Fine tuning needs to be done, but I do hope one day soon to bring this to the people! :D

Actually found the link I was looking for previously. https://www.the-mha.org/cbd-converts-to-thc-in-the-stomach/ Seems to indicate that large doses of CBD can be changed to THC by stomach acid.

Here's the original study:

http://csatc.org/pdf-Scientific-Research/Watanabe2007.pdf

Here's the end of the abstract from the study:

"The present study demonstrated that CBD can be converted to ∆9 -THC and its related cannabinoids, 9α- OH-HHC and 8-OH-iso-HHC, in artificial gastric juice, and that these HHCs show ∆9 -THC-like effects in mice, although their pharmacological effects were less potent than those of ∆9 -THC."

The following quote from the same study is an important reminder to only consider the original research report (in this case, the journal article) rather than general media articles about the original paper:

"In biological systems, there have been no reports on the conversion of CBD to ∆9 -THC itself."

As above: This study does not demonstrate, nor does it cite any sources that demonstrate CBD being converted to THC of any kind in actual animals of any kind (and only looks at the effects of the HHC's they made outside of any animal in artificial gastric juice which was then injected into mice, not humans).

The same study on the same page (p. 17) also highlights that CBD has never been shown to become any kind of THC through smoking in any model, whether biological or otherwise.

The claim that CBD might become THC in a human who eats CBD is not persuasive, since the model has never to my knowledge been demonstrated in any living thing ;)

Two of my new pick ups.... I am loving the C02 jellies... so smooth.

And some lovely shatter from my favorite 'cooks.' These guys give large checks to the Epilepsy Foundation monthly. Gotta love it.

Mom, I'm telling you right now, when they finally open the Maryland dispensaries this summer/fall I'm going to every one of them, buy whatever is their top shelf concentrate, and post pics of it here because I should not be the only one constantly drooling on his monitor! LOL You have been killing me with these pics all year, gal!

By the by, I see you favor black nail polish! Pretty racy for a Mom...even if it is just Mom of us goons, eh? :brow::lol::lmao::rofl:

I guess it is about time that I shared a snap of some recent work of mine. This is a hand pressed 6 star mixed 45-120u full melt bubble hash in a nice shiny 300x macro shot:

3CxAedH.jpg
is that considered an "ice wax"?
it looks like the ice wax I got from warrior extractions in LA. Is that what a top of the line non-solvent hash should look like?
Someday I will have to buy some again. My current stash is a year old and will last another. The market is changing at light speed

Actually this is a 'hash' in the truest sense of the word - hand pressed (with gloves!!!). This was freeze dried and then pressed for hours into what you see now.

This is one example of what high quality full melt hash can look like. The color of good full melt can vary a lot depending on the source material. I have seen white, beige, pink, brown and red full melts before and have seen pictures of allegedly purple full melt too!

The pic I posted here is a high magnification macro shot. Macro imaging is the best way to see the quality of the hash. Looking at my pic, note that you can clearly see the separate resin glands (it looks like a bunch of little shiny balls stuck together). Full melt that is overly dried/whited out can have no shineyness at all, but you will still see the heads in a high magnification photo and it'll still melt just the same.

Unpressed full melt can look all kinds of different ways too, my avatar shows one example of microplaned (I no longer do this, I always keep my resin glands intact as you can see in the latest pic above, keeping your glands intact is the best way to retain terps during the drying and over time in storage!), conventionally air-dried and unpressed 6 star bubble.

The main thing is to get that macro shot and make sure that you can see nothing but whole resin glands :D

I know, I'm bombarding this thread with pics lately
No such thing.... :p Looks divine!

My contribution today is some Purple Breath. This stuff......:whoa: I can honestly say this is the strongest concentrate I have ever tried. Total sucker punch to the head and body. I'm glad I don't have much to do today. I looked up the attributes (flavor wise) of both the Purple Urkle and Mendo Breath strains it's made of and I can't say it tastes like either of the descriptions. I may get a hint of vanilla but it's mostly piney/skunky to my palate. I will definitely be on the look out for this again. Pure pain relief.

Mom, YOU deliver!

I'm on he threads for the education and I think for the first time on FC, you showed me something I never even knew existed... Jelly concentrate?!?!?!

Fucking amazing, even if it isn't a lung busting couch lock inducing wonder, I'm always pleased when scientists offer up something new and different.

Would you buy more jellies even though they may not be as strong as traditional concentrates, or are you over the novelty of it?

Some uber sticky Larry OG shatter.... and shit! I spy with my little eye a little hair... fuck I'll bet I dabbed that.... :uhoh:

Why... yes. Yes I would. :D In fact, I specifically went yesterday cause the dispensary had a sale on it.

Somebody has a problem spelling at my dispensary, lol. They labeled the Larry OG as 'Lary' and some of the C02 jelly as Sknuk. I'm loving this stuff. A whole lot smoother than the shatters I've been getting. And I don't mind that they're a tiny bit weaker. You just do another dab... :p

Also picked up more of this stuff... honestly the best I've ever had...
