So I lost that Hondo Piece but it was a good loss. I did bid again but in the end I let her have it :( She said it was going to be a Christmas present for her husband so I quit bidding at $860/ That is easily a $1300 piece so she did well. You win some you lose some. But it would have been dope, UV reactive, Dichro and all.

I need to stop reading your posts. I was strictly a scientific glass buyer, but now you've got me seeing heady pieces in my cart instead.

I need to look at it again. No, it does not have the amount of color your has...by a long shot. Its only colored around the mouthpiece, base, and....and I have to look at it again. Its a small piece...slightly bigger than the Bates internal. I'll check it out and let you know...they may have had it quite a long time and got it at lower price. Dunno.

Thanks
@mrbonsai420 - looked at the Phattassglass piece again today. Its a Klein recycler, maybe about 8" with wide and heavy base, and a bit of nice color on the MP, side of base, and...I need to look again! LOL

It is in a local glass shop and I know that they are a bit expensive (but, its a big brick-mortar store and I like to support local businesses when feasible and not too painful vice internet). They had a price of basically $400 on it.

They also had one that was beautiful full color but its $600.

Are they way out of line, do you think...based on your recent buying experiences?

@Baron23 I found this place and they are in line with the pricing you spoke of https://hydro-head.com/search?q=phatass. You might also consider reaching out to Phattassglass directly. I did and he made me a really nice deal on 2 pieces. He had a pretty decent selection and was a really nice guy. I think 400.00 is in line with internet pricing and so you are not really paying that much more to walk out with it right there and then. But if you want to really go off the deep end and reach out to them and see what they would do for you =)

Forgot to mention he makes an incycler and a recycler. They are a little different so pay close attention to pics online if you are looking and want to make sure you know the style before buying The recycler has an extra arm at the top to feed the water back down as the innercycler has slits at the top to release extra water from instead of the arm like the recycler

Hi @mutten840 - thanks for the link...I Googled Phattassglass for Sale and didn't come up with these guys. I think these guys are about $100 or so less then the local shop but need to look at it again to make sure its apples to apples but I'm pretty sure its the recycler with the external arm.

How do you get in touch with Phattassglass. There website is down and I HATE social media (facebook, instagram, etc). Do you have a way to reach out to these guys?

Thanks!

That is a good retail price but if you can catch one at auction they can be had for less. I am usually an auction guy, I really like getting a good deal on a piece. BUT That being said I just ordered 2 customs at full retail price so if it's the one you want grab it! I talking with Tyler Bowman now, I have been dreaming of an Aqua Azul and white window rig for a while now.

@Baron23 I contacted them through Instagram app on my phone. But I did get his email info from the purchase through PayPal sawyerglassco@gmail.com

Really nice guy and really enjoyed picking his brain on what he had for sale at the moment =)

Here are the pieces I got:
Butterscotch incycler:

Splatter perk:

You got both of those!!! SWEET! I fucking LOVE the butterscotch and that bad ass Splatter perc!

So, Only scoop that came in this week was the little 5.5" @broughttoyoubybroadway Mini Inline. Hits great, no splash. Only complaint is that I wish the extended joint touched the table so it didn't need a small support with an enail. Minor gripe as Minis aren't designed for enails but of course I use EVERYTHING with an enail at one time or another.
Colors are Purple Lollipop & Purple Lilac

Design look familiar @thisperson ? lol

@Baron23 he told me the incycler would be smoother for dabbing. But in the end I know I will end up with both at some point =p
Thanks. Perhaps I should get the recycler and then we can swap them back and forth from time to time! LOL

I sent an email to that address and we will see what they come back with.

Cheers

So in the 11th hour PhatAssGlass threw me a curve ball and offered me 2 different pieces than what I had picked out and in the end I got a serious upgrade in one of the pieces, as it changes from purple to blue depending on the type of light and has these little speckles in the glass that catch the light to make it have a glimmer effect. The mouthpiece has this insane swirl pattern and is really nicely made. Then you throw in 2 marbles on the side and shit has gone out of control!!! Function is on spot and has no issues holding my 20 or 30mm Ligers. The other piece is a butter scotch recycler and it goes from transparent in color to solid and has an almost fumed look depending on how you look at it. function is on spot and feels like it was made for using with the Liger as it paired really nicely and could also hold the weight of both nails. I have asked him if he is cool with people hitting him up and he said he is. So I have posted his info below and please play nice with the glass blower =) He has offered me and @Baron23 a 2fer deal where you pay full price for one piece and he gives you the second free. So if you can pony up some cash, he will hook you up. (Scouts honor)

His name is Terry and his email is: sawyerglassco@gmail.com

You can also hit him up on instagram, but his email also works =)

Now here are some pics and I am sorry but I am moving and so there is shit everywhere =P

Beautiful, @mutten840. Really fabulous. You are right, that swirl in the hover perc piece MP is out of sight!

I agree....be nice to Terry...he's a really, really good guy who will work with you to find a deal that works for you.

I also have a reclycler and hover perc on their way to me. Will post pics when I get them.

Excellent scoops. I like both of those a lot (Of course I would lol) It's funny how it's actually cheaper to buy glass through a retailer than the artist. Artists don't want to undercut their distributors so they charge "Retail" but the thing is none of the retailers actually charge retail, They post them for that price and then let you talk them down 20%. I found the best way to do it is actually just become a distributor in their eyes and buy multiple pieces. It seems the only way to get a decent price artist direct. We just need to scoop 2 or 3 each and let them go to each other. Problem is when we get the 2 or 3 pieces in they are so awesome we want to keep both! lol.

Well, not quite free but I didn't want the one he offered for the free 2nd and upgraded to a great looking hover perc model. But the resulting price was screaming good for this stuff.

I haven't received my yet, but below are the two that I purchased:

This is what I definitely wanted:

PAG%20Recycler%20-%20cream%20and%20green.jpg

PAG%20Recycler%20-%20cream%20and%20green%202.jpg

This is what I chose for my second...a definite upgrade to the twofer deal:

PAG%20floating%20perc%20-%20green%20and%20orange%201.jpg

So, I really don't want to join the ranks of the homeless and broke glass collectors! LOL Seriously, for me this is a big purchase for a vape accessory and I'm pretty well set on glass (well, until something falls....oh no, Mr. Bill!!)

P.S. Just noticing the lip of the joint on the hover perc...it looks very off in the pics. :o Also, looks uneven where the green joint meets the white in the recycler. In all examples of his work that I have handled personally, these types of things were flawless and I'm hoping this is just a artifact of the picture/camera. @mutten840, in person...how does the quality of the work look to you?

P.S.S. - I just wrote Terry with an inquiry on these possible issues. I sure hope I haven't leaped before I looked to closely on this one. It would be an expensive lesson.

@Baron23 both my pieces were without issue. But the pics he had sent me did no justice to how nice they looked in person. If he has not sent them out yet, you should hit him up and see what he says. I am having a hard time seeing the uneven joint, but I also wear glasses =P

Hi @mutten840 - I did write to Terry and he replied at once (which is a rare bonus anywhere in the MJ industry!).

He said that "you have no worries about these. The photos are very badly taken". He also did say, however, that they are handmade and hence not perfectly symmetrical (which is to be expected, I get that completely)

I do understand that these are hand made joints, and are not going to be perfect, but in the one picture of the hover perc, if you look at the top lip of the joint, it looks very much thicker on the left side than in the middle or the right side.

Again, I have seen some of his pieces in person and would be shocked to find the level of imperfection shown by this pic so I'm willing to wait and see when I actually have them in hand.

Cheers

@Baron23 I am wondering if it is just the lighting and the darker coloring around the joints making it look off. I know mine have no issues and I can tell they were made by hand. But by someone that really knew what they were doing and had done it many times before =)

I just checked the joints on mine again and they are all uniform and thick. I got my fingers crossed it is just a lighting issue on top of a bad pic

Funny you say that because that's exactly what Terry said...that the awfulness of the pics was mainly due to lighting.

I would NOT accept what appears, in this picture, to be this level of funkiness in a cheap chinese piece much less from PAG and I am quite calm in the belief that these are mere artifacts of the photo.

Take care and take it easy on the move to the new house, my friend.

I'm not sure what you guys paid but I think I got close to the same deal from @got_glass at auction. He was fair and awesome to work with. What's this guys name you are buying from?

I got a bunch of Grav Labs stuff at a steal and have been giving that to friends for Christmas! I may end up with a the whole lineup of Grav stuff as my "Cheap" glass. No more Chinese glass for me I guess? :) Hemping was the only one I really liked anyway and he doesn't make many.

@mrbonsai420 We have been dealing with the blower and his name is Terry. I did check out the auction site you called out and will def be watching for future items =)

I think the big thing for me personally is I am helping a glass blower by putting funds directly into his hands and in turn helping him with some extra scratch for the holidays. I really do like a good deal and will be waiting for future auctions.

I'm seriously considering getting PAG to make me a piece as well but I was wondering if the slide joint is safe for the liger or a quartz banger to go into straight without a drop down or should I see if PAG will maybe make a matching drop down?

@gladthaturaglide I am a little paranoid on that end since I lost a piece to not using a dropdown and pretty much always roll with one, just to be safe. You should hit him up and see what he would charge for a dropdown. I bet he would make a sweet one that would match nicely with the piece =)

Joint break from too much heat?
Clear or colored joint; hand formed?
Torch or Enail?

PS that sucks.

It was a hand made piece very heady and I had a Ti nail that got torched while being seated too snug and forced the joint to go POP!!!

Tears where shed as it was a wash and the piece was done for. I have played around with not using a drop down on pieces, but always become haunted with the images of what happened and end up grabbing a drop down. I know you can go without. But for the cost of a drop down in comparison to most nice pieces. why not protect your investment when possible =)
Since we are speaking of drop downs. I have been on an iDab Jhook drop down hunt and have a pretty decent selection to mix and match all my glass. If anyone is looking for a sexy drop down, check them out.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I am going to inquire with PAG and see what he can do for a drop down. I see all these pics of people not using them on IG but I've got to imagine that these are more marketing then they are reality.
