Pen The Torch by Top Bond

Volute of Vapor
There is a new vape pen for flowers in the market, from the makers of the Odin, Top Bond.

I received one yesterday along with an Odin. The Torch is very small, definitly the smaller of the flower vape pens I already tested. Maybe as small as a wax vape pen!

Here a comparative size pic (from the left to the right there is the Focus Pro, the Inhalater05, The Torch, the Evolve plus and the Linx Zero):
1Gtz5pO.jpg

It comes with 2 mouthpieces (one glass and one plastic), brush and tool, usb cord, replacement screens and user guide. It is made of anodized aluminium and there is only one button. It doesn't smell at all.

It looks like a conduction based vape with 6 temperature settings (in celsius it is: 175,185,195,205,215 and 225). 3 clics to activate the unit and you can switch the settings pressing the button +2s.

Mouthpiece is very similar to the X-Max/storm mouthpiece. Bowl size seems very similar to the X-Max/Eco,Imag,...

About performances you can get vapor even at lower settings and taste is pretty good enough, nothing exciting but nothing disappointing also.

Can't comment yet about the battery life (I used it for 20mn and there is still juice!) but it doesn't use a 18650 battery I think and the battery life might be shorter. Charging took me under 2 hours to a full charge.

This vape doesn't carry nothing new except a very small size and very good performances. I don't know anything about its retail price.

Don't hesitate to ask for more infos. Thanks for looking.

Hi guys, I was claiming it was full conduction but I'm not so sure now, it's not full convection but the heater seems to work similarly to the Odin which is hybrid but still mainly conduction.

The good point about this unit is the components....they carry absolutly no factory/plastic taste or smell.

Here some infos the manufacturer send me:
1, isolated airpath
2, PEEK material to replace normal plastic ( no plastic smell)
3, small size 13.3cm
4, we have two more accessories for the Torch: Silicone sheath and Glassmouthpiece as picture showshttp://imgur.com/NZE74IW
5, Anodized Aluminum shell
6, Memory Function

i don't know how the memory function is supposed to work but if I turn it off (3 clics) it will start on the lower setting (not an issue for me). If I let it to stop with autoshutoff you only have to press button +3s to power it again on the last setting you used.

I need to post my review about the Odin also but I'm a bit annoyed cause the taste...it is under the average vapor quality/taste (similar to the Imag's vapor but almost worst than the Storm/x-Max/Focus.... I know lot of vapes need a sort of "seasoning" before to get the better taste, that's why i prefer to wait a bit before to post my Odin's review.

Let me know if you have question, the Torch is very convenient&efficient for some "on the go" sessions!

The Torch is very convenient to use on the go, small, no bright leds, decent battery life and taste is surprisingly good enough. I didn't tried but I'm sure the flowermate pods will fit the bowl.

Thanks for your views so far, this product seems like fun!
I have a few questions about buying this (maybe two!) as a present for someone, I'll try ask in a PM as some of it relates to another vape.

We have offical WPA, wax pod and herb pod. :p

Hi,
Is the Odin 'half pack mod' also for use in this Torch pen?
Whats the approximate size or capacity of the original bowl and/or the Herb pods or half pack mod?
How long is the warranty on these?
Thanks!

Hello @blackstone

The Odin half pack can be also for use in the Torch. ;)
The capacity is approximately .3g
The Torch and Odin both have ONE-YEAR warranty.

Here is the review of the Torch, you can check it out:rockon:

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!
I will read that review now.
I have found one more question in the meantime,
In the posts above, PPN mentioned that the Torch comes with a second glass mouthpiece also.
Is this the case with all retail packs, or only recent units? And does the glass give a cooler sensation to the vapor?
Thanks, I'm keeping you busy!!

The Torch glass mouthpiece is as a spared accessory, not in the packing kit. It has a silicone base and a glass tube. Longer than the original MP, so it could avoid hot vapor.

Feel free to hit me up.

That's fine, it still seems like a good value kit as is, well done for making it so small and well priced with a nice looking oven and accessories.
I'd like to see what results it can get at middle temperatures over shorter time periods with small loads, I might know myself soon!

Thanks for filling me in @Mike-Topbond , hope the holidays are kind!

So i got the Torch for my brother. he's very happy ad we did some sessions together so i feel i can give a lil' feedback on this one.

It feels really solid, external finish is really nice (i got the Gold one). it's really small! i have big hands, it totally disappears in my hand.
A full oven load requires approx. .2/.25 grams, preatty standard for a portable.
Loading the oven is very easy!
1-button function is super easy as well.
We have vaped at 195 °C finishing at 205 °C. with these temps you could do 5-6 sessions per charge, which is nice. This value drops substantially if you use higher temps, which i think are only for concentrates. i have bought the concentrate pad but we still have to try it, so more on this later.

No plastic smell right from the start, which is also nice!
It took a couple of sessions to get the right draw... I think the torch works best if you do slow long draws.
We were using it along with my Alfa to compare: Torch's draw is the opposite than the Alfa's.
With long slow draws you can really get some nice clouds, sometimes really thick ones, especially at 205 °C (which is a bit too much IMO).
Taste is fresh and really nice but it drops after the first 3-4 draws. We haven't done no mid session stirring, maybe it would work with the Torch.
Charging time is quite long: my brother says it takes 4/5 hours for a full charge...

This is a very nice little vaporizer and would recomend it to anyone especially at this price point.
If you're looking for a small, stelathy, solid, easy to use and to load, cheap, on-the-go vape, this might be the right choice.

Cheers everyone!

Also, i second what PPN said: if you pack the Torch's oven loosely you will get somehow a more convection taste (in a way reminded me of the S&B's Plenty), as opposite to for ex. the Alfa which gives a full conduction taste. I think you should pack the torch's oven full giving a little press at the end, not too much. ;)

so the other day me and my brother tried the Torch with the concentrates pad, using some really nice Oil (QWET method).
i must say i had no heavenly expectations (due to some meh experieces with other vapes - very few i must admit), and i am a classic dabbing lover, but we were really pleased!
i think the pad is really well designed, does look and feel serious.
We inserted the pad into the oven, heated the vapo at max temp (215 °C) and when it reached it we basically put a small ball of oil into the pad, quickly closed the mpc and vaped. (@Mike-Topbond if you have any hints on this please share!). We did one ball each, and got 3/4 tasty draw from each ball.
The effect was there, not as potent as a regular dab, but really there! :) besides it was nice to do several draws from one ball and not blew it on a single draw as if we were dabbing. so different, but nice and efficient. ;)

Happy to see you like it @JoeS , this vape is tiny and delivers powerfull hits and taste is pretty good for a conduction vape.

It's a sort of mini version of the X-max V2 Pro but without the replacable battery. One of my favourite when something very small and light is needed but be carefull if you're in public cause it can pull out some large clouds even at level 4 !

Hi, there is a Torch2 avalaible at vaposhop:
https://www.vaposhop.fr/vaporisateurs/nouveaux-vaporisateurs/topbond-torch-2/

replacable battery, 18500&18650(a 18500 is included) and still a simple but very well working pen vape, thank you @Mike-Topbond to offer us good working cheap vapes. Don't get my Torch anymore (gifted to a friend) but still use my Novae weekly and, sometimes, it replaces my Prima as a "sofa vaporizer".

Never tested the new Odin2 and Novae2 but I bet they are pretty good vapes, no huge claims or special launchment but always a good surprise (I don't remenber any TopBond vapes I tested to brings a factory taste and I used the Odin,Novae and Torch all first version).
