The Lotus Vaporizer

Anyone tried rosin with the lotus (d020 bong with wpa) ?. do i just scrape a bit onto the metal mesh screen ?. How many heat cycles ?. (usually i get 2 heat cycles with herb). will i then need to drop a new mesh screen into the wpa if i want some fresh hits. Is a very small amount of rosin equivalent to a 1/2 to 3/4 packed herb bowl. I'm hoping its not a case of once i try rosin the effect of herb will be weaker. Rosin harder to get where i live.

Load the wpa with just enough weed to cover the screen and put a drop of rosin on it.

Come on people! Show some love here! Lotus is still one of the best vapes out there! Oh, how much I miss one... :luv:

Luckily my last Lotus is in my brother's hands and I get to taste it every now and then... Those hits...:luv:

One day it shall be mine again! My precious... I think I would give up my Vapman for one... Hmmmm... :hmm::rolleyes: Got to think this over a bit...

Hey guys, out of nowhere the wood on my Lotus has cracked. I've had it for a little less than a year, would warranty cover it?

@Max Jitter I have a problem too but I think I can fix it by myself: on my cap the grey glue dot that holds the stirring tool cracked and half of it is missing (I bought the cap used, it came like this). At first the little metal rod was held by friction but now is too loose. What kind of glue would you recommend to fix it? Thanks.

I would recommend one of the slow set epoxies, which is what we use. It will also help to file a very small notch in the pin to give the epoxy something to grab.

Come on guys, 3rd page below the gpen elite???? SHAME ON US!!

Just dropping by to say wow about the hits that you get from your freshly cleaned wpa adaptor..
Moreover, I placed my order for another 2 extra hot plates, some Lotus screens, a small scoop and some powder for my glasses... Time for some proper cleaning!

All those ordered from our dearest Verdampftnochmal, pity that he's not an FC partner as well, since Mendocino has stopped shipping in my country for unknown really reasons.......(I just love repeating myself about it)!!

Yeah, I have been using the Lotus pretty consistently for about a year now. Been a while since I last posted, but no news is good news for the Lotus; it pretty much cured my VAS, so I have been only lurking occasionally. :)

I have lately been working the E-nano back into my rotation more, while neglecting the Firefly 2 (which is still good for a battery-powered unit, but does not come close to the nano in terms of power and consistency). But the Lotus is the vape of choice for a short, no-nonsense sesh, whether through water or through the wonderful shorter stem.

I changed the hot plate on my HT cap today and maaan.. it feels much harder getting a decent hit and I feel like not being able micro-dosing so much now. I had this feeling especially when I tried my friend's normal cap one the other day.. it felt like spring kind of... really easy to get a quick hit when with the HT I've missed that a lot...
Anyone that had the same troubles??

There's more metal to heat up on the HT cap, especially with the debris screen mounted. On the plus side, the debris screen should lessen scorching with a full bowl.

What is worrying though is that the hot plate itself is as if it's trying to "escape" the heat and is kinda pumping itself towards the outer world. I don't if I can explain it properly. When I'm heating it up now, it's stretching upwards which I think this makes it more difficult to have a hit. Have I installed something the wrong way? I've opened the HT cap several times and this is the first time that it does that.

Hi there,

I think it's normal.
Others have reported the difference between HT and the original vaporcap. I still have to get one myself, and the fact I can ride with the lotus like on a sportscar's (or moto-gp?) circuit makes me think getting the HT will be a whole different game.

HT cap i wanted since long is on the way, finally, lets hope customs will let it go (wahaha).

About your concern : a new plate will change the "form" in the center. you can see the dilatation and stretching up and down in the center if you pay attention. i'm not able to go into the science, but the hot air, torching, etc..could determine how fast someone use and "season" his plate.. If it wouldn't be like that they would "crack" more rapidly. It's just the "seasoning". The old style plate with "stripes", were deforming themselves not uniformly. Here you see the in the center the plate goes up a bit, right ? It will "stabilize", maybe get a bit larger .. Probably you had your first Lotus on occasion ?

Also we all use lotus a bit differently, I would guess the HT can make the lotus less instantaneous but more forgiving (?), and thus plates becomes more of a consumable... ? Can't wait to get some proper bubble hash and the lotus BlackCap !
If some of you who have both versions can write some thoughts on how they are using them, differencing, .. etc ?. Thanks !

I have both caps & I find if I turn the torch up on the high temp cap & it performs the same as the standard. It is more forgiving if you heat it too long & I think it gives a better flavour.

Anyway just dropping in to show some love for the Lotus.

I've bought a lot of portables over the years but only for home use. Before I bought a Lotus I'd only reach for them when I was after a milder experience or a different vape signature. I prefer the thicker vapor quickly produced by desktops like the Sub the Evo or Volcano.

Lots of new battery powered portables have been released this year & I was hoping to see something different, but most appear to be similar internally & also kind of similar to what I already own.
The newer upgraded models of the battery powered vapes I own don't seem to offer a lot of changes, I rarely use them & I don't see the point of upgrading.

So this year I decided to buy myself a Grasshopper & a Lotus, two vaporizers very different from anything I owned. The GH is great & quite effective when it works but I find draw can be a little restrictive.

However the Lotus has been a complete game changer for me & that's why I've taken the time to leave it some positive feedback.
It's my first torch powered vape & I've found it's nice to be in complete control & not be limited in power by a battery or preset temperatures.

Since buying the Lotus I've also bought a Vapcap woodie & a Vapman.
These three are great but of course this is the Lotus thread & I'm not here comparing units. I'm just giving a brief description of my short background with these type of vapes. Without a doubt the Lotus is my favourite.

Using the Lotus with the WPA I was impressed & surprised by the sheer volume of vapor it produced, how quickly it did it & with no draw restriction.
Using it with the solid black pipe is incredibly quick & convenient with big smooth lovely flavoured clouds.
Using the jhook makes it a little easier to see what's going on but I do prefer that heavy stem.

I really like the Lotus, it looks simple but a lot of fine tuning must have gone into it because it really performs. It looks well crafted & I enjoy the contrasts of metal & timber but even more by it's ability to produce those big on demand convection clouds.
If you're like me & have been thinking of buying one of these for ages I'm saying just go do it.
To me this is a very underrated vaporizer, it's been around a few years but I feel if I'd have known how well the Lotus functions I would have been enjoying one a lot longer.

In my opinion the Lotus is a must have in the tool kit for the fight against combustion.
It's just like the brochure says

"...pure vapor,

instantly ..."

I had a custom j-hook made for my lotus. I commissioned Martha Proctor @liquidsandstudio on ig.

The lotus is my instant vape, fuck waiting for something to heat up haha. My evo is on a timer but every so often everything is cold so out comes the lotus. I use a HT cap with a small torch not a little jet lighter these days. I find it works quicker and stronger. 1-1.5 hits from a bowl, using wpa always. And I get hits that I think are more thick than my evo when I get it right. Not that its hard to get right just need to find your technique.

I torch the lotus till glowing red before use, preheat. Then put it on the full wpa and heat till just glowing red - start inhaling slow-ish then just keep the heat just below red dot - inhale increases. Boom. Purely a high temp hitter and man it works like magic.

If my lotus broke or something I would re order straight away I love it and reckon its one of the best vapes ever. Power outage - battery's all flat so what lotus will heal me!
