What I know is that it's been cold as hell up here lately. We've had some cold novembers, but overall our winters have been unseasonably mild over the last few years. I do think the el nino/la nina dynamic is affecting our climate more than any macro model is, thus I think it may get colder again this winter.
Which sounds . . . wait for it . . . completely NORMAL!!!!

Lol random is the new normal. I've never been a global warming denier or promoter. What I do see is a planet that has, relatively recently, been subjected to more extreme weather events than whatever the usual is interpreted as these days. How this usual is interpreted, is what defines how much more extreme these events are. This does make me a bit more receptive to the term extreme climate change.

Today it's 27 degrees warmer than yesterday at 16°f

....and I have some artemesia seeds in the mailbox this time. I can track this delivery, they got here an hour ago the car's warming up because the mailbox is a ways away. Although today it would be a nice walk.

It's expected to get cold again when it clears up and btw lower 48, our cold's coming for you.

Man made climate change, or anthropogenic global warming, is not science. It is a political agenda. True science works on the fact that if the data does not support your conclusions then your hypothesis is negated and reworked into a more fruitful line of study. But not in climate "science". They keep changing the raw data to fit their ideas. No climate computer model has ever come close to predicting real world temps. Why? Because they "adjust" the data making the past cooler and now warmer. I will give you one, glaring example, that was just published recently . . .

SchmidtvsSatellites.png

ALL of the computer models ever since this thing started are exactly the same. Not ONE computer simulation has come close to the raw data results. Why? Because they are fudging the data to keep the $$$ coming in.

Anyone remember the emails that were released that PROVED that the Micheal Mann/Gore hockey stick graph was faked?

The laws of thermodynamics were Einstein's favorites because he believed they would be the most unshakable laws of the universe.

Well, if you believe the climate nuts then the laws of thermodynamics must be ignored. Its simple. What you are trying to tell me is that 0.012% of the atmosphere is not only driving the temp of the rest of the atmosphere BUT also driving the temp of 350 million cubic miles of ocean, at an average of 40F, and 600 billion cubic miles of earth at an average of 2000F.

Another thing amateurs miss is that water vapor is the #1 greenhouse gas in the atmosphere, holding 96% of the heat, and without it we would all die.

Further to the valid points that has been made in this interesting post,

I noted today, that one of the 'daily tabloids' round here, (The UK) had used practically the whole of the front page to warn us about an expected forthcoming plunge in temperature down to (get this) minus ten degrees, (-10 deg)!! and they (T.P.T.B.) were expecting 'national shit' as a result! I mean minus 10!, Yeah it ain't warm I'll give you that, but really? Minus 10 = National shit? WTF!

So it makes you wonder, what global warming? Cos it certainly ain't heating up, at least not around here, and as for a British Summer! Well, as anyone North of Watford can tell you, anywhere outside the South East and then Summer is considered to be just a cruel (and laughable) joke! Just endless wet days interspersed with the 'odd' nice day 'here and there', and I have to really emphasize the use of the term 'odd' and also 'here and there'. Cos the truth is it ain't warming up!

Them schmucks are taking the piss out us, yeah I accept that with technological advances we can curb pollution, but as their well aware, that isn't 'the smoking gun' when it comes to global warming/climate change, for instance what about HAARP and all those kinds of tech, which are deliberately messing with the environment?

Until there is a real and serious conversation on the negative impacts that HAARP CERN and all the other 'experiments' that we don't even know about, has taken place, then I for one don't need/want, or accept some clown, telling me shit about things that they don't even know about, and in any event, the drivel that they do dribble, is in the main, merely sound-bites designed to keep all of us enthralled with a slavery of the mental kind!:hmm:

Wake the fuck up! :bang:

not preaching:shrug:just saying;) without spouting:)

-I was gonna post this in the S3 thread, but things got too derailed so I'll just post it here

Your words are very kind to me after I let myself down and lost my usual calm earlier today. Im sure there are a few members have lost as potential friends, I will be surprised if I everbsee @biohacker like one of my posts again, and dont blame him I want very friendly. Im really on edge emotionally at the moment but i sincerely apologize if I have upset or angered anyone.
Lot of good people around here disagree w/ one another, doesn't make them sworn enemies though! :) All things must pass :spliff: and at the end of the day, regardless of who agrees and disagrees, genuine intent can be appreciated, I think.. Either way, things pass... I definitely really appreciate how intentionally careful you were this entire time, NOT to let your situation become a "fear mongering" situation  Can't do anything but respect that, personally.. Good luck w/ your situation :peace:

Unfortunately, it has become hotter in Florida. We have had record heat for so long, I've stopped keeping track. It didn't used to be this way either. I guess when you have to endure the heat all the time, and never get a break like you used to, it tends to make you believe in climate change.

That's what the debate is about, is the context of "normal". Peak temperatures are definitely warmer than it has been for a few hundred years, so it's hotter than anybody's ever known or known about. But what about a few thousand years, like say 2,500; is this normal or abnormal? What about the last 25,000 years?

Consider that mankind has been around for ~200,000 years; we've only had electricity for ~150 of them.

The weather is NOT being affected by mankind and neither is the climate. In case you didn't know the two are different things. What they are being affected by is that bright fiery ball in the sky called the Sun. Study solar weather and sunspots for a clue as well as natural variations due to the Earth's PROCESSION. Unfortunately most people that speak about climate, or weather, know nothing about it. The idea that weather is more extreme now is stupid. I remember the 1970's well, and the 80's and the 90's and so on, and weather today seems no different to me. In fact before this last hurricane we didn't have one landfall the US in like a decade.

If the data wasn't being manipulated to make people think the past is cooler and the present warmer there would be no discussion. This is why EVERY SINGLE CLIMATE COMPUTER MODEL presented to us by the "experts" runs way too hot. They are all adding in this carbon feedback "idea" that has no basis in reality and they are "adjusting" the data to fit their theories. This is NOT how science is done.

Get a grip, study science, and make decisions for yourself rather that taking the word of politician's "settled science" which has a direct link to your pocketbook and lifestyle. Ask yourself, what are they really after.

Lo and Behold! The transformative power of Vapor.
I tried to quiet down a (political) thread and be the peacekeeper to keep it going. Was going to add this clip for much needed levity. But, was literally minutes too late.
LSS. Let's be thankful for the amount of expression allowed on any good forum and respect the work of the moderators. This place is a safe haven for the semi-rational. :freak: And I do try to be one of FC's little helpers.
But a political thread in a volatile year with it's tensions and apprehensions can only bear so much weight.:bang: Let's try to lighten that load and also continue to (attempt to) contribute to the Forum.
There are fewer places on the internet for this level of discussion that I have been enriched with. Now a word about EXTREMISM and back to the business.
Disclaimer: Although as a 2+ year vaporist, I do have an extreme view on combustion. And that word is FUCKCOMBUSTION! Thank you moderators, contributors and fellow FCers for helping me take up the fight.:goon:....;)

Don't want to enter into a discussion about Climate change. All things being relative. Just one small thing. Climate change occurs on Mars. But don't treat it like it's current news and sensationalize it.
I knew about Mars and it's ice caps in grade school. Now, this precedes the term 'climate change'. You see where I'm going with this?

The Earth's climate will change. The magnetic poles will change. We should think about our future tech to inhabit spaceship earth.:peace:

Enter the Dragon
I was pondering this afternoon how lucky I am relatively speaking to be in the position I am. I have a job where I have huge scope for development & the chance to manage a lot of projects that will build my brand. The more I investigate the more work I realise I have to do but that allows me to set the standards & template for the future. In addition to that I am saving at least $10k in parking & tolls as well as cutting my commute from 60-90 mins each way to 20-30 mins.

On the flipside I am not used to the lack of what I can only call total fucking insanity & stress that was my daily life previously. I have no idea how I did it for so many years but I know I will never let shit get like that again. The biggest challenge I am facing is housing affordability as a 1 bed shoebox is $500-1,000,000 in Sydney. Even though I earn over the median salary & have zero debt, solo that would be a pretty big stretch to take on & is fucking ridiculous for a modern slum tenement.

Best thing for diffusing disharmony with others for me is comedy. I spend endless hours listening to stand-up at night.

So you all REALLY made me laugh with some of these. So wanted to contribute myself!

Peace and laughter to everyone today.

Pity the nation that is full of beliefs and empty of religion.
Pity the nation that wears a cloth it does not weave
and eats a bread it does not harvest.

Pity the nation that acclaims the bully as hero,
and that deems the glittering conqueror bountiful.

Pity a nation that despises a passion in its dream,
yet submits in its awakening.

Pity the nation that raises not its voice
save when it walks in a funeral,
boasts not except among its ruins,
and will rebel not save when its neck is laid
between the sword and the block.

Pity the nation whose statesman is a fox,
whose philosopher is a juggler,
and whose art is the art of patching and mimicking

Pity the nation that welcomes its new ruler with trumpeting,
and farewells him with hooting,
only to welcome another with trumpeting again.

Pity the nation whose sages are dumb with years
and whose strongmen are yet in the cradle.

Pity the nation divided into fragments,
each fragment deeming itself a nation.”

Sigh. It did say random thoughts in the title, so here goes.

I lurked on FC for years as I made sublingual RSO at home to treat chronic pain.

Then I got pancreatic cancer and had to get more out of my supply, etc. So I became a member at FC. I know, big whoop.

It was a big deal - and still is - to me. I don't do twitter, fb, ig, abcdefg, none of it. My "ptsd" says so.

It was how you all treated each other here on FC that made me finally choose it as my home - there's some rough and ignorant places out there online in the cannabis world imo, some of you may feel the samew.

People here on FC like DieHard and herbivore21 just thought they were helping me refine my qwet.

They were saving my life.

Earlier this year, after 18 months on my FC-refined RSO method, I logged back on to FC. Alive and not getting dead (for now). And I wanted to give something back in gratitude, even if it was just "showing up and suiting up".

I spent this year looking at new stuff on FC - working my way through shatter, rosin, glass (got GAS pretty bad), but...

The Vapor Lounge was where all the "cool kids" went. I could handle talking on the objective platform of tek or cannabis genetics. I could even post a few pics of my stuff. But...I don't think so...

A few people (peace out kelly and ataxian) helped me feel like I was at home, and had friends. A few FC'ers had told me for a while to wander on over to the Lounge.

Fine I thought, I'll try. Got ready to eeeeeaaasse on in. Just like in high school, I would go the the cool hangout, but stay outside and get my eyeballs on things, find a brood of goths or something for cover... (too much Paul Tompkins, sorry).

I looked around just a few days ago for the first time and...wow. Oh yeah, there was an election...I'm just glad to be alive no matter *who* is running the show...

For me, it was like showing up and the bloods and the crips just had a gangfight. Authorities taking notes from everyone ("He said what, sir? I see, and then again in pm you say?"), police tape across threads where blood was spilled, red and blue bandanas everywhere...

Please, I am begging you as I say it out into the air - the Universe, God, Karma, anyone?

Please don't take my heroes and teachers away from me.

Please.

Peace and healing out to everyone.

Herb gardener...
I don't do twitter, fb, ig, abcdefg, none of it.

I'm the same there, fc is the first social media (ish) experience iv ever had, or want to have...
I don't really have any social contact in real life either.... I always struggled to find people with similar values or intellect as me...

I was blown away by the people here on fc, just a bunch of respectfull, decent people, sharing our collective knowledge and experience, and having a laugh along the way...

Like you @OldOyler, I now feel at home and among friends...

It's great to have this support network in my life, it has changed my life so much in this 1 year...

I see fc being in my life for the forseeable future....

I stay out of the political threads myself, as I learned my lessons years ago on another [very well run, also] forum. Politics seem to bring the beast out.

There is way, way more fun to be had in the Lounge, my friend. Come look at lovely photos and funny pics!

“Yesterday we obeyed kings and bent our necks before emperors. But today we kneel only to truth, follow only beauty, and obey only love.”

“Only yesterday I was no different than them, yet I was saved. I am explaining to you the way of life of a people who say every sort of wicked thing about me because I sacrificed their friendship to gain my own soul. I left the dark paths of their duplicity and turned my eyes toward the light where there is salvation, truth, and justice. They have exiled me now from their society, yet I am content. Mankind only exiles the one whose large spirit rebels against injustice and tyranny. He who does not prefer exile to servility is not free in the true and necessary sense of freedom.”
