that person is a lp patient so his opinion does count listen to what he has to say.

You keep posting these random youtube videos of hippies telling you what you want to hear, when actual LP patients here are telling you they like their product.

If you get your prescription from a real doctor, they can't tell you what LP you have to choose. No one can tell you where you HAVE TO get your medicine. DO your research on LPs, find the one you think is best, bring that LP's form A to your doctor and tell them "this is who I want to sign up with".

This is true. You choose where you want to go, although your DOC will recommend something based on your usage, like if you use Concentrates ONLY, you wouldn't be recommended Mettrum since they specialize in Flower and Oil (oral edible oil).

I am used to getting the "best stuff in town" because I was lucky enough to have a connection from an older smoker through my father, all my peers will say how great my cannabis is. The stuff I get from Mettrum is at the level of the stuff I am getting on the streets the difference is I have more of a selection. The price is about 20-30$ cheaper per OZ on the street, but that's getting a good deal, and I prefer a selection over saving a couple dollars because I don't like getting heavy indicas constantly, I like a daytime and nighttime flower and good luck finding any sativa or sativa dominant around here.

Legalized Marijuana In Canada Would Be Worth Up To $22.6B Per Year
http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2016/10/27/marijuana-legalization-market-size-canada_n_12676754.html
A legal market for recreational marijuana could give Canada’s economy a boost of up to $22.6 billion annually, says a new study from business services firm Deloitte.

The study estimates that marijuana sales, even initially, would be at least as large as hard liquor sales in Canada, at around $5 billion annually, but could be as large as $8.7 billion, making them as large as wine sales.

Recreational weed could be a $22.6B industry: study
Sales of legalized recreational marijuana would surpass combined sales of beer, wine, and spirits, it says.

marijuana-plant.jpg.size.custom.crop.800x534.jpg

Deloitte surveyed 5,000 Canadians this past summer — including 1,000 identified as recreational marijuana users — and calculated that the base retail market alone would be worth $4.9 billion to $8.7 billion annually.

Legalized recreational marijuana promises to spark a $22.6-billion industry in Canada, eclipsing combined sales of beer, wine, and spirits, a new study suggests.

The Deloitte report — titled Recreational Marijuana: Insights and Opportunities — being released soon concludes that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s legalization of cannabis next year could jolt the economy.

“There hasn’t been anything like this — and granted it wasn’t legislated — but you think of the dot-com … flurry,” Mark Whitmore, vice-chair of Deloitte, said in an interview Wednesday.

“It has that kind of feel to it. There’s a lot of froth, a lot of interest in this space and a lot of people think there’s going to be an opportunity,” said Whitmore.

Deloitte estimates that satisfying the recreational weed market will mean producing 600,000 kilograms of marijuana annually — far more than the existing 36 licensed producers grow for medicinal purposes...

I would like to promote

HERBAL DISPATCH for Canadian residents

you can order Flower/ concentrates / edibles / topicals / capsules / ++++ (PS the stuff here is higher quality than Mettrum or to be real, almost anything I've ever had my hands on)

as far as I know you do not need to be a medical patient, although if you're a medical patient they will skip you to the front of the line (in fact they'll immediately set you up)

If you're non-medical you'll be on the waiting list but it's worth it my friends

the prices are cheaper than Mettrum and others I've tried by a little bit and you actually get deals if you get say an OZ instead of an EIGHTH. You also gain 1pt per $ spent on the website, and 20pts is worth 1$ so it's like a 5% discount.

They offer veteran/disability discounts too <3

I believe Herbal Dispatch will be around long after legalization, what ever they're doing, they're doing it right cause unlike say BcBud.ca which was very similar, Herbal Dispatch has been around for years and the Gouv knows about them, so whether it's the fact they pay taxes or what I don't know but they're here to stay!

I would expect cannabis to make more $$$$ since we smoke it all day, every day whereas Liquor isn't the same. Very different really.

ALSO, once there are more farms with Cannabis growing nicely outside etc.. the prices will drop substantially and then Cannabis will maybe not maybe that 22.6B$/year or whatever.

just being real, it shouldn't cost 1000$ per pound of cannabis. It should be closer to 50$

HERBAL DISPATCH for Canadian residents

Thank you kind sir! i am now on the waiting list!! they have a nice selection with some very popular strains!
I'm hoping registration doesn't actually take 4 weeks!!

Currently i use Canadian Compassion Club. email info@420meds.ca ask to become a member, took many weeks, but when i followed up with them they sent an account activation link almost immediately. No medical card required. I like their service, with great prices. i've also used PureGreenExpress, quality herbs, award winning strains, but very expensive.

Anybody else have the inside scoop on online shopping??

Apparently the report from the task force heading this up released their report to the federal government, if and when anybody sees the report and has a link please post it up here. I am just dying to see what Anne McLellan and the rest of the gang recommend for us lol. My expectations are not very high. :|

I heard that , for the Gov. to achieve the Billions of dollars
in potential revenue from Their own prediction . They would have
to do something to stop the current Black Market distribution
of MJ . Which has been flourishing in the past 20 some odd
years . Most habitual users have " a guy " they've been doing biz.
with , way before the current status .

Since it may be a logistical nightmare to round up all of the
Chain Suppliers of cannabis , while clogging up the judicial system .
They and the LP's have devised the idea of .... Under Cutting the
prices of the current Black Market and Rogue Dispensaries .

If this comes into fruition , it would be very beneficial for the individual
user and their wallets . A pricing war for my $$$ , I would Luv it .

BestBuyMJ.ca .... bring it on

That's how it should be done---low enough costs to wipe out the black market.
Unfortunately, many govts see rec mj or med mj as a cash cow to milk for every last cent they can extort with taxes and fees and bureaucratic BS.

Here in Minnesota, only the well to do financially can afford our meager med mj program. $200 fee per year.
Only two vendors so no competiton. No flowers, only oils which are pricey. The concentrate costs are like 8X- 10X what Colorado gets. Our system is shaped to sustain the black market.
Some patients have a $2000 a month bill, and no insurance of course.

Anything beyond a slim tax, like 5%, is money grubbing govt greed at its finest.

Canada May Be Readying to Fully Legalize Marijuana

Last week, the Task Force on Marijuana Legalization and Regulation in Canada announced that it had completed its five-month research project and plans to submit a report in both English and French to government regulators by mid-December. The report involved getting roughly 30,000 responses to an online questionnaire, meeting with the individual territorial and provincial governments, interviewing cannabis experts, visiting with patients already on medical cannabis, and even heading to Colorado and Washington to see how their recreational pot industries were being regulated. This report could very well determine if Canada becomes the second country worldwide (Uruguay being the first) to legalize marijuana.

tl/dr all of it yet .

1. I'm shocked that the minimum age is 18 , and
not the 25 figure that was touted . They were adamant
that MJ would be harmful to the developing teenager's brain .

2. We can purchase thru mail orders or store fronts .
I'm wondering what would be the advantage(s) of mail orders over
' in person ' shopping ?

For me , I've always preferred store fronts , where I
can get an up close inspection on what to buy. So I'm
only guessing that the mail orders would Have to offer better
prices or larger qtys .

btw they opened up a cannabis store across from where
I'm living . Literally 200 yards from my door .

Canadian government moves toward legalizing recreational pot

By Rob Gillies | AP December 13 at 5:33 PM
TORONTO — Canada’s government said Tuesday it would study a federal task force’s recommendation that Canadians over 18 years old be allowed to buy marijuana for recreational purposes and would announce new laws in the spring for legalizing pot.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has long promised to legalize recreational pot use and sales. If the legislation passes, Canada would be the largest developed country to end prohibition of recreational marijuana. In the United States, voters in California, Massachusetts, Maine and Nevada voted Nov. 8 to approve the use of recreational marijuana, joining Colorado, Washington, Oregon and Alaska, where it was previously legalized. Uruguay in South America is the only nation to legalize recreational pot.

The marijuana task force, headed by former Canadian Health Minister Anne McLellan, recommended that adults be allowed to carry up to 30 grams of pot for recreational purpose and grow up to four plants. It also recommended that higher-potency pot be taxed at a higher rate than weaker strains. It also said recreational marijuana should not be sold in the same location as alcohol or tobacco. Under the proposals, alcohol-free cannabis lounges would be allowed.

Hopefully they keep up the benefits for being a registered medical user.
They mentioned no taxes and it being covered by healthcare providers! Finally!

Where did you see that bro? It's looking like they will tax the snot out of everything!

  • Apply the same tax system for medical and non-medical cannabis products
And this is for legalized sales in 2018? Apparently it's going to take alot of time for everything to be written into law?

killick

But I like it!
Canada seems to be steering directly towards the rec market tho, and ignoring the current medical patients. Look at Veterans Affairs recent cut to the amount of MM their clients can claim - suddenly cut from 10g to 3g per day. 10g/day prescription works out, according to HC, as 49 outdoor plants, or 19 indoor/outdoor combo (without really providing info on the how or why of the numbers). Those numbers only count if you get a license I suspect.

When in doubt - www.overgrowcanada.ca starts again in Jan. Plant early, plant often, plant everywhere :)

And for those of you that like going to dispensaries - there aren't all that many, and some provinces have none at all. I'm glad it works for you, but it doesn't work for many. Thank goodness for mail order, lp, dispensary, whatever.

Agree
it was just a " recommendation " anyways .

1. is it 4 plants per household ?
or 4 plants per user(s) in house ?

2. in order to have a steady supply from home grow ,
don't you have to have several plants in various stages
of cultivation ? totaling more than 4 ... idk

3. who will be monitoring the # of plants per house ?

4. 30g possession on person , but we'll be storing extra
at home for sure . Buying from several MJ stores ?

5. dispensaries will/should expand to general public sales ?

Let the price battle competition begin !
