This is true. You choose where you want to go, although your DOC will recommend something based on your usage, like if you use Concentrates ONLY, you wouldn't be recommended Mettrum since they specialize in Flower and Oil (oral edible oil).
I am used to getting the "best stuff in town" because I was lucky enough to have a connection from an older smoker through my father, all my peers will say how great my cannabis is. The stuff I get from Mettrum is at the level of the stuff I am getting on the streets the difference is I have more of a selection. The price is about 20-30$ cheaper per OZ on the street, but that's getting a good deal, and I prefer a selection over saving a couple dollars because I don't like getting heavy indicas constantly, I like a daytime and nighttime flower and good luck finding any sativa or sativa dominant around here.

as far as I know you do not need to be a medical patient, although if you're a medical patient they will skip you to the front of the line (in fact they'll immediately set you up)

I would expect cannabis to make more $$$$ since we smoke it all day, every day whereas Liquor isn't the same. Very different really.
ALSO, once there are more farms with Cannabis growing nicely outside etc.. the prices will drop substantially and then Cannabis will maybe not maybe that 22.6B$/year or whatever.

I'm hoping registration doesn't actually take 4 weeks!!
Currently i use Canadian Compassion Club. email info@420meds.ca ask to become a member, took many weeks, but when i followed up with them they sent an account activation link almost immediately. No medical card required. I like their service, with great prices. i've also used PureGreenExpress, quality herbs, award winning strains, but very expensive.

I am just dying to see what Anne McLellan and the rest of the gang recommend for us lol. My expectations are not very high.

in potential revenue from Their own prediction . They would have
to do something to stop the current Black Market distribution
of MJ . Which has been flourishing in the past 20 some odd
years . Most habitual users have " a guy " they've been doing biz.
with , way before the current status .
Since it may be a logistical nightmare to round up all of the
Chain Suppliers of cannabis , while clogging up the judicial system .
They and the LP's have devised the idea of .... Under Cutting the
prices of the current Black Market and Rogue Dispensaries .
If this comes into fruition , it would be very beneficial for the individual
user and their wallets . A pricing war for my $$$ , I would Luv it .

That's how it should be done---low enough costs to wipe out the black market.
Unfortunately, many govts see rec mj or med mj as a cash cow to milk for every last cent they can extort with taxes and fees and bureaucratic BS.
Here in Minnesota, only the well to do financially can afford our meager med mj program. $200 fee per year.
Only two vendors so no competiton. No flowers, only oils which are pricey. The concentrate costs are like 8X- 10X what Colorado gets. Our system is shaped to sustain the black market.
Some patients have a $2000 a month bill, and no insurance of course.
Anything beyond a slim tax, like 5%, is money grubbing govt greed at its finest.

tl/dr all of it yet .
1. I'm shocked that the minimum age is 18 , and
not the 25 figure that was touted . They were adamant
that MJ would be harmful to the developing teenager's brain .
2. We can purchase thru mail orders or store fronts .
I'm wondering what would be the advantage(s) of mail orders over
' in person ' shopping ?
For me , I've always preferred store fronts , where I
can get an up close inspection on what to buy. So I'm
only guessing that the mail orders would Have to offer better
prices or larger qtys .
btw they opened up a cannabis store across from where
I'm living . Literally 200 yards from my door .

Canada seems to be steering directly towards the rec market tho, and ignoring the current medical patients. Look at Veterans Affairs recent cut to the amount of MM their clients can claim - suddenly cut from 10g to 3g per day. 10g/day prescription works out, according to HC, as 49 outdoor plants, or 19 indoor/outdoor combo (without really providing info on the how or why of the numbers). Those numbers only count if you get a license I suspect.

1. is it 4 plants per household ?
or 4 plants per user(s) in house ?
2. in order to have a steady supply from home grow ,
don't you have to have several plants in various stages
of cultivation ? totaling more than 4 ... idk
3. who will be monitoring the # of plants per house ?
4. 30g possession on person , but we'll be storing extra
at home for sure . Buying from several MJ stores ?
5. dispensaries will/should expand to general public sales ?
