Discontinued Omicron Vaporizer for oils

Do you have to buy the o-rings from w9 or can you get them from any hardware store? I also bought the 1701 donut to go with the Omicron, can you let me know how to use the donut and the coils together? Is it worth doing it with the donut and coils together, or should I just pick one? If anyone's heard of the Focus vaporizer, do you think the Omicron is better? Also what works best for concentrate efficiency, the Omicron or Hercules? Thanks for the good information everyone.

You can pick up o-rings from any industrial supply store as long as they're the same thickness/diameter.

We carry the 1701 which is a rebuildable ceramic donut heater featuring a white ceramic donut with internal resistance wire and a black ceramic donut "wick" that can be placed on top of the heater for additional wicking/capacity. Did you purchase the 5pk of donuts separately and are asking if placing a donut on a dual coil is a good idea? If not may I ask for you to elaborate a little?

I have had some pretty great experiences using the black ceramic donut on top of my dual coils. It increases the capacity by a fair amount and I have noticed it helps preserve flavor for longer on a single application. If you choose to do this, the heater will retain heat for longer and will require you to be more diligent with cooldown hits to prevent leaking especially if you are loading more oils.

Also what works best for concentrate efficiency, the Omicron or Hercules?

Efficiency is a hard thing to really pin down as each vaporizer provides a slightly different user experience that may be tailored to different user desired. They can both be incredibly efficient with proper usage and care practices. If you are on the fence about what to move forward with, feel free to give us a call at 818-849-6133 and I would be happy to help!

Thank you very much for the detailed honest response and I'll give you a call if I encounter any issues. I bought the Omicron v4 with a 1701 heater and 5pk of black donuts Sunday night. Sorry I didn't explain well but you're right, I want to use one of the black donuts on top of the dual coils like the picture on the previous page. You said the flavor lasts longer when you do it this way, does that mean it's more efficient? Do I put the wax on top of the donut or sandwich the wax between the coils and the donut? I never used the Omicron or any other wax pen, so I'll have to figure out why cooling it down between hits will keep it from running. Does cooling it down mean the wax will be solid and not runny? I already went with the Omicron but I wanted to know if I made the right decision by not going with the Hercules, because efficiency and reliability and durability are my main concerns. I also don't like cleaning, will using the donut on top of the coils and cooling it down properly cut down on the cleaning? Thanks again for the awesome customer support.

I usually make sure the coils are loaded, then plop on the the donut and add some more right on top of the donut. I try to make sure that the coils stay saturated while reapplying to the donut as necessary.

Efficiency is kind of tricky to describe- with this method you may end up with some oils coating the ceramic cup and wick. Are you more interested in micro-efficiency or macro-efficiency?

Definitely give me a call when you get a chance would love to chat!

I'll for sure give you a call when I receive the Omicron in the mail in a few days. In order to keep the coils saturated do I have to put wax on it every time, or only at the beginning of a session? I'm sorry I'm not sure what micro and macro efficiency means, does it mean efficiency short term and long term? I think long term efficiency is more important but I'm more interested in being able to use up as much of the wax as possible with little to no waste, is there a good method to achieve this? Thanks a lot for the help Limbs.

It should be reapplied as necessary, usually after 2-4 hits depending on how much you vaporize in a hit and how much was loaded initially.

If you purchase and vaporize a lot of oil, over a long period of time I believe the Hercules will be more efficient- it's also quite easy to reclaim any "loss" from the Hercules. The Omicron may perform better if you vaporize less as there is no need to saturate a wick with ~0.5g and you can potentially vaporize with a high degree of efficiency if your loading and usage techniques are on point. I suppose they're both efficient in their own ways with the determining factor being the user. I'm looking forward to your phone call, we can go into more depth then!

I'm thinking of getting a whole ounce of shatter to practice with until I get the efficiency technique down. I don't want to increase my tolerance so I'm planning on not using more than 0.1 grams at a time. From my understanding the Hercules is better if you want to take huge hits and use much more than 0.1 grams at a time, but the Omicron is better for efficiency for smaller loads. I think the unit will be here today but I won't be able to get the shatter until Thursday night or Friday, so I'll contact you in a day or two. Thanks a lot for the support!

I've done some googling and find any 510 attachments to 14mm. Why isn't this a common item? I have a nibbler on the way but would like to attach my V4 to small hydrotubes

I've put my small dhgate hydratube directly on top of the glass mouthpiece with excellent results! It's not the most ideal setup, both hands in action, but it makes a perfect seal.

Damn just re-read your post and realized you have a 14mm hydratube. Mine is 18mm but I'll go ahead and leave my post in place in case you end up with an 18mm hydratube or for anyone else who might find it helpful.

The Hercules is actually fantastic for all sizes of hits as you can choose to vaporize only a small amount at a time. If you are planning on getting an ounce for practice, you'll be a master in no time! It would be quite easy to load up the Hercules with 0.5-0.7 grams or more and vape it one small hit at a time. I would be happy to help once you get yourself ready to go!

This might be a dumb question, but can I use coconut oil or a cheaper substance to keep things saturated?

This is probably a bad idea. I would not put anything in the Hercules chamber unless you fully intend on vaporizing it.

What kind of attachment are you looking for? The Nibbler XL is probably the easiest way to water-filter the Hercules as anything else would likely require tubing or holding the unit upside-down during operation which I wouldn't necessarily recommend doing.

I have a PWNT hydra tube I wanted to use with it until my Nibbles AC comes, but looks like that's only a day or two from my door :) Excellent product

I bought some EHD TI Gr2 coils for my Omicron v4...I went to test them but they only seem to make a buzzy noise and not glow at all. Any ideas?

I had an unfortunate situation with my V4 today. After driving home from my parents house for Thangsgiving and unpacking my bags, I decided to finish off the coil I started last night with my gf only to find it completely black and burnt. It seems the button got pushed enough times to turn on and be held long enough to completely ruin the coil.

I'm almost positive it was properly turned off before it was stashed away into the small camera case I've been using. Maybe the lesson here is to never have the AC attached while in travel. i guess I'll need to pick up another dual coil now, maybe right in time for the new ones to drop?

This isnjsut the titanium wire that does this. It's normal. It's basically the stress of the coil expanding during the heating phase.

I'm sorry to hear that, sometimes we think we shut it off but we have not. But to be sure do you have a multimeter?

As for the new coils we are looking for a mid December release.

I'm not getting any visible glowing, like I have with previous coils though. Is that normal? I'd like to not load my coils until I know their functional.
Here's a vid showing the coil and the after-mentioned buzzing.

Is it getting warm? And what setting are you using ? It shouldn't glow initially unless you really put it on 20 watts and press for a long time let's say 20-30 seconds.

I do not have a multimeter. Should I be concerned about the battery?

It's not like me to finish a session without making sure I power it off. I've been using the same camera case since I've had the V4 and this was the first time this happened.

I'm using the lowest (ten watt?) setting. Seems like it's getting warm. I assume that means it's working then?

Is there an official testing procedure to run coils through before I load them? I hope I'm not being too apprehensive about getting a defective coil.

a couple of warm up runs and you feel it getting warm should be fine, if you have DI water you can test with a drop if you wish. This should work fine.

hearing the clicking noise means its working. So you are good to go. Remember the clicking noise is only audible with the EHD coils.

Once again i do apologize and we will fix it if there is an issue, do you have a spare coil?

@slozukimc the AC V2 'drip tip' or mouthpiece is a stainless steel with a PTFE inner core. The PTFE is molded to the metal - 2 ingredients, PTFE and stainless steel. We use PTFE as the material for the body of our mouthpieces due to its excellent characteristics when subject to high heat. It makes up the mouthpiece of our Gen 3 Kiss cart, the inside of the AC V2 mouthpiece, and the heat shield and mouthpiece of the Hercules. Notice how the O rings sit in a PTFE body and the PTFE is what slides inside of the metal core. This results in far less heat transfer than if the entire tip were made of metal.

Sorry to go back to an old post..

I'm just wondering what kind of temperatures the PTFE is exposed to?

Thanks

I love my omicron 4. It has helped me learn that I don't need to get blasted with my concentrates, but after 2 pulls on yellow, get a nice mellow high. I have only been using the 10w setting and I still get massive clouds (only the first hit needs a lil warm up if u just loaded) on the double ceramic. This thing is built solid.

LOL, One of my family members said they know I'm home or around if my omicron is still on my desk.

I take this thing everywhere. It replaced my Arizer Solo for a good while, maybe 2 or 3 months or more the way i was always out n about.
Full battery on the 900mah will last all day in a group of 4 or more. A week of solo use, since i only load about 3 dabs a day. Each giving me 3-5 fat hits on the purple setting.
This thing has gone through some real "testing" hahaha

I want to get another daul quartz coil, but i''m afraid that it'll will stop working like the other one i had bought.
Still waiting to see what else you guys got in store for us, if anything lol

Really? Full day for 4 people? Been wanting one of these, sketching around about which battery to go with. The small discreet size of the 900 mAh is certainly appealing. My Source battery doesn't last a day for one...

well, i don't dab too crazy, neither do my friends. i'll wait like an hour or two or more after taking 3 good hits.
