Yocan Cerum

nosmoking

Just so Dab HAppy!
There's really not much of a difference in performance. They're s little smaller than the Evolve Plus coils. About the same size as the Nyx and Torch coils. The only real difference with the Cerum coils is that the cups are made of ceramic.

I think one page back you'll find a write up from @Vitolo and he talks about the differences he noticed as well.
Thanks man...I will be sure to go look for that post from Vito. I like the larger size for sure. I use my Evolve Plus donuts and qdc's on the Torch all the time.

Ah just my luck I mistakenly ordered the black atty, they just arrived. My bad....

Anyone with the black atty out there think I should take the time/money to return em? may have issues with paint?

Anyway cool looking donut, can see the small wire zig zagging in the donut, must be how they get even heat.

I haven't found the paint to be a big deal.

Much appreciated, I'll save half the black, then order white ones next time so I avoid mixing up strains in atty. Honesty that is about the only reason to color these attys since they are concealed in the tank.

The Yocan Cerum is indeed the real deal guys, both the donut and quartz atty blow away other donuts/standard coils I have out of the box. Excellent flavor and massive clouds on first hits, no air resistance when I pull! I filed down my Dabstorms battery's cosmetic metal ring a little to fit the Cerum tank well. Also pleased that my Dabstorm bubbler fits the atty. Acually I didn't notice any splatter in the base of bubbler with the Cerum atty cap off. Two thumbs up on my first take!

Only suggestion would be to offer a sealed atty cap with no hole on top for travel.

Well, thanks to mom and all the other pioneers here I bought a Cerum from Fastech, and I have to admit to being pretty impressed!

My only issue is that the small ceramic cap has cut through both of the O-rings supplied with my kit.

I don't know if it's because the O-rings are poor quality, or the cap is a bad fit, but whenever I try to fit the small cap over the atomiser (with O-ring fitted) it pushes the O-ring out of its groove and simply pops back off when I release it.
'screwing' it on helped to get the cap over the O-ring without displacing it, but has led to the slightly sharp edge of the cap cutting up both O-rings :(

Without the O-ring in place, the cap just rattles about in the mouthpiece and doesn't seal.

Otherwise the three hits I managed from the Cerum before this were VERY tasty, but maybe slightly harsh.

My last hit was bolder than the two preceeding ones and left me coughing up a lung (oops, overdid it ) but this was my own fault for going too hard
Knocked me right on my ass! :whoa: (16Watts)
I'm going to try to find some donuts to try, as the dual quartz definitely provide MOAR POWER than I need, and I value taste over clouds in this instance (given the excess of clouds available, even at a fairly low wattage)

Has @PPN or anyone else with a temperature control mod (is that a VTC mini PPN?) used either of the atomisers with TC mode?
If so, what temp's and settings are you using?

I'm thinking of upgrading to a TC mod to allow looong pulls without the risk of the temp going too high.

Thanks to everyone posting, as I'm very happy with my purchase, despite the problem with the small cap.

Same experience, o-ring doesn't seat enough to protect it from the high-friction ceramic and gets chewed up quick. I gave up on the small cap fairly quickly and haven't missed it much, it's a nice pack-and-go feature but the bubble hash I use stays in place ok on its own.

I use only the VW mode at 10-12w for a better taste with decent clouds. It's a Evic VTC Mini.

Edit: no issues with the o-rings but I bought a black one on Fastech and the black finish is not well made although it performs very well. Actually I use mines on the top of V-One's batteries or with my Big Boy Dabstorm battery cause my Hercule get the Evic's monopole!(until my Movkin Disguiser comes...)

I've been using both the Yocan Cerum ceramic donut coils and their Nyx ceramic donuts in TCR mode on both an eVic VTwo Mini and iStick Pico. I started by first reading the entire Divine Tribe atty thread where some smart folks worked out some basics using this new(ish) mode. For the Cerum donut I use a TCR value of 250, for the Nyx donut I use a value of 300, temp set @ 390, wattage set to 15w. Still a "tweak" in progress but it's suiting me fine so far. To clean them I use wattage mode @ 15w with 5 second on intervals. I like the fact you can get replacement 5 packs of the donut coils and the coils and bases are interchangeable on both these models.

I had one cap that would crush the o-ring, got around it by developing a twist to put it on and take it off.

Few questions
1) Does it leak like the divine tribe?
2) is the bowl really large like the yocan plus? My concentrate gets stuck to the sides when loading and can be a pain.
3) Do you clean these just like the divine tribe by pulsing the power to get the donut white again?
4) Anyone sell the cerum with 2 donut atomizers? I don't care for the dual quartz

Thanks

No leakage here using BHO with the donut, I had this issue a little with the Dabstorm donut. I would consider the bowl average size but deep, best with shatter. Yep I pulse or hold at 23w, clean donut all around. It's only available stock quartz but at $20 for the Cerum not a big deal imo since the quartz coils are a cut above. The boxes all have bar codes to scan online, I really like this feature!

1. Not like what I read in that DT thread.
2. Not familiar with yocan plus. Side by side the Cerum donut coil is a tiny bit wider in diameter and about the same depth or just a bit more then the DT's deep bowl. The NYX donut coil is about twice as wide in diameter and much deeper with a slight taper before the donut. That one would be easier to load. The donut looks physically the same as the DT on both Cerum and NYX. Resistance is around the same as well.
3. Yes, I do mine @ 15watts for 5 seconds on/5 seconds off upside down until a nice drop of sludge comes out into the ABV for future edibles. Then wipe clean. I have also soaked them over night in Everclear.
4. Those quartz dual coils can pack a punch if so desired. I haven't seen any Cerum or Nyx units up for sale with ceramic donuts as default and I also emailed sales@yocan with no reply.

These are working so fine for me I haven't even tried the DT v3 yet! It's a work in progress.

The coils are so small you can carry a few preloaded for times you might need that, I like that option.

I think the plus is the biggest size Yocan makes. They are bigger than regular evolve as well as what comes with the Yocan Torch. You should follow my post in the SourceVapes thread. Source orb XL sounds like what you may want as that seems to be the largest diamater concentrate. The source terra 2 sounds nice also because there is no exposed coils, not even a donut and the walls heat up so your conc doesnt stick to them!

I hope Yocan copies the Terra 2. I'd love to get a terra 2 but having to buy the overpriced Orb is not something I want. Most likely getting a Cerum this week to play with.

I bought the yocan Cerum today and put it on a kanger subbox and forgot to turn down the power. Now its not recognizing the base or coils on the battery. Is it possible that I killed the base by over powering it? Any idea would be great

Yes that's probably unfortunately what happened. How many watts did you have it set at?

49 or better....
OOPS

I know man, it sucks. Has happened to me several times. Sometimes I Nic juice at high wattage and then forget to turn it down when I screw in a lower wattage coil. Pisses me off anytime it happens.

I don't understand why these mods don't have a simple feature implemented that would go like this: Screw in a new atty, hit the fire button, it doesn't fire but instead displays a warning message: new atty installed , please verify wattage and settings before firing again.

I can't believe how these donuts don't seem to produce a poor taste after heavy use. My Dabstorm donuts although fine do not keep a super fresh taste after full burn offs from running 1/2 gram a week like this Cerum seems to.

Thinking of placing a screen between the mp and cap to further reduce chances of splat getting in mouth, these do seem to splat on 7sec full load rips. Lol also kinda looks like your hitting a dido in public is a downside too with my setup.

Bahahahahah just realized my newest mod has this feature lol. It's the Triade 200 by Lost Vape. Great mod!

Recently got the cerum and paired it with a Tesla 40w. Looks very innocent if you ask me.

7HrbpLo.jpg

So far I've been very pleased with the donut atty at around 13-14w. The taste is very good for a pen and the vapor quality is quite good. The cerum gets me pretty medicated off quite a small amount.

Anyone else using this mod? I haven't been able to get TC to work with it yet. I've seen others are using TC with these donuts. I will have to play around with it.

Ah! That is the setup I need in public! Where did you buy it? I don't see any online vendors that I prefer selling it...

The Cerum came from vapepensales.com. Priced at around $16 plus priority shipping. I also got a donut with it for $6. It haven't scanned the package to check if it's legit, but I think it is. They were the cheapest that didn't seem like a knockoff. Fasttech seems like just another dhgate selling knockoffs.

The mod came from vaporrangeshop.com for $35 shipped.

It's the perfect pairing. This lil thing is heavier than it looks and fits so nice in your hand. It's very innocent looking and I could probably trick people into thinking it's my inhaler.

I can't seem to get into TC mode still, maybe it's the cerum causing that. It's not that important to me, I'm pretty happy with using watts in .5 increments. Currently enjoying 13w.

I thought I had given up on wax pens, but this lil thing is pretty impressive for the price. It's not as tasty as my nail of course, but it still tastes pretty damn good if you ask me. I didn't use my rig all night.

The little mod which comes with the Dabstorm 2.0 is fantastic to drive the Cerum!

Any good deal somewhere for Black friday? I want to make an attys stock (donut and QDC)!
