i did - wiped it down with iso - i've used it with the bottom both open and closed - i'm done fighting with it, i've owned/used 10 other modern vapes and none of them had this problem, the process of returning it for store credit has begun! :)

For whatever reason (subconscious.... psychological... maintenance issues... and any number of reasons that make us do things...) I grab for the Odin, before the Pax1 or Pax 2.. (the alfa is gone, it has been placed in a home months ago).
This subconscious act that has happened repeatedly through the afternoon and evening, when I need a portable... tells me that it is outperforming the vapes you mentioned.
The reach test!
And I am still very satisfied with the performance of the Odin.

I understand that also.
I knew a very popular and gorgeous girl in my youth.
Dudes lined up to get a chance to talk to her.
She was charming and funny too.
I could not stand to be around her.
Some essence of her natural skin, combined with whatever perfume she wore, and I could always detect the scent....... even after she bathed.
I quietly let that one slip away!
Other guys did not seem to mind it....
...thus it is with the Odin and you.
It performs well and the essence does not bother me.
Some people lock onto a feature's weakness (like a scent that they do not like) and can never get past it.
good luck with whatever you purchase next
I second @collegeKid101 's sentiment.

Could anyone compare the vapor quality to some higher end vapes? I know its been said to be better than boundless, pax 2, airvape, but what about crafty? The butane vapes? FF? Just trying to stack this guy up, looks like it could be a great portable option.

past 6 months i've used: lotus through water, firefly2, sticky brick, crafty, mighty, odin, grasshopper and a pax2 - of those my fav has been the mighty with the brick pulling a close second...
i had 3 problems with the odin: mouthpiece gets hot enough to be uncomfortable, there was a strong plastic smell/taste that i couldn't get rid of, and the unit is a bit of a herb hog
the main dealbreaker for me was the smell/taste that wouldn't go away, but the efficiency thing was annoying as well - as to the actual vapor quality it wasn't too bad, hard to comment on the taste because of the strong plastic overtones but the heat and harshness was ok, it didn't make me cough and you could get good clouds if that's your thing, also the potency was there as it definitely got me medicated

i've never used similarly priced battery portables like the boundless or flowermate options but the vapor quality is not on par with the crafty/mighty or the brick or the ff2 - those are in a different ballpark

A short post to mention how I'm pleased with the Odin. I'm not a fan of the design, it seems very cheap in hands and the battery life is bad (30-40mn of vaping for 2-3 hours of charge) BUT it makes the job very well, offers more than decent taste (after the initial factory taste) and smooth and large clouds.

I agree with the previous poster, this unit don't play in the same game some high quality vape does although a lot of people doesn't want to risk a +200$ unit in a concert or a festival or to carry everyday.... about the bad taste/smell I was also very disappointed about it but I can tell you it will disappear like for many and many 100$ made in China vaporizers BUT I'm not claiming I like that or it isn't dangerous!!!!

If you "never used similarly priced battery portables" how can you make your claim that these vapes you never tried are not on par with crafty/mighty....

I understand how you read it, but maybe they meant:

i've never used similarly priced battery portables like the boundless or flowermate options (to confirm the comparisons referenced initially) but the vapor quality (of the Odin) is not on par with the crafty/mighty or the brick or the ff2 - those are in a different ballpark

as it can be read like that easily too, with respect to the question.
But I might be wrong!

Is 30-40 min of use the norm for most of you owners? Some if the reviews I'd seen previous said they were getting closer to 60 but if the reality is half that than that's pretty dissapointing/:

If it has a single 18650 cell, that's what I would expect. 45mins max but more 30min average over time, like all single cell portables out there.

I've been using one of these for quite a while now. The mouthpiece design, bowl, and storage area all say Flowermate, but the draw is more unrestricted and I was really pleased with the big hits it can deliver. I'd been previously using the HipVap as my pocket vape, and although I still prefer it for easy and stealthy carry and use, the Odin is a lot better at delivering large amounts of vapor in a hurry. No restrictor plate issues here, as with the Flowermate. The vape also does an excellent job of shedding heat without the housing getting hot. In fact, with my use, I've found that it hardly gets warm. The only thing you have to watch out for, heat wise, is the glass mouthpiece, and as long as your lips don't slide down onto the bottom 1/4 inch of the glass, no problem. The battery level indicator is also nice. The HipVap doesn't tell you where the battery reserve is until you see 'LO' on the display.

I don't care for the 5 click startup. 3 would have been better, but it's a minor quibble. A brush short enough to fit in the storage hole would have also been my preference, since this mouthpiece design collects herb on the screen. The screen design (identical to the Flowermate) makes for a long lasting screen, but this size is not ideal for a bowl screen. It comes out too easily when the bowl is emptied, and it may give some trouble on removal if it becomes sticky. Before 1st use, I installed a plain stainless steel 3/8" screen, which stays put during unloading. I get why they supply these heavy duty screens, but I can't recommend using one in the bowl without at least a regular 3/8" screen on top. After a cleaning I used the two screen option to see how that goes. Works well. 2 little silicone o-rings keep the glass mouthpiece in place and these need to stay away from alcohol during cleaning. The Flowermate also uses silicone to secure the glass but there's a lot more of it. IMO these o-rings are the weak link on a vape like this, which needs frequent cleanings to avoid getting all gunked up and parts stuck together. My advice is to buy an extra mouthpiece and I think they should supply about 4 extra o-rings in the kit.

Aside from the o-ring issue and the need for frequent cleaning, I've found this to be a really nice portable- much more satisfying hit wise than my HipVap (although that one's a dream, maintenance wise). If you told me I could only keep one vape, this might be the one. It's the only one I own that can give me both big hits and portability, and I refuse to pay a premium price for a portable.

@max your thoughts are spot on!
Yes the Odin is a great inexpensive portable vape and it definitly get a place in my rotation for stealth on the go sessions.

Did you tried the Torch? It is quite good too...and absolutly stealth!
