Hey everyone. Forgive me for not going through 290+ pages to see if there's a good answer.

Looking for an herb grinder that creates a pretty fine grind -- all the round, hand-held ones I've tried don't work as well as my small coffee grinder for vaporization in my Flower Pot vaporizer. I'm getting much better results with the more finely-ground stuff.

But even a small coffee grinder is WAY too big for one nug at a time to be ground up, even a big nug. Is there such a thing as a handheld, battery-powered, or plug-in grinder that is very small and creates a finer grind than the round metal ones? It seems most cannabis grinders create a grind that's more suitable for packing a bowl for combustion rather than for vaporization.

The Kannastor GR8TR comes with 2 grinding plates.

I believe what you want is the magic flight finishing grinder:
Magic-Flight said:
We've found that our Finishing Grinder is far superior to our Nano Grinder in terms of textural delicacy, and is on par with the extra-fine grind one would expect from a coffee grinder

There is no better fine grinder made. You will love this made in the USA product.

When the Facts Change, I Change My Mind.
This is a repeat of Kannastor cleaning instructions:
Note: "if cleaning a grinder with a clear acrylic body or acrylic clear top lid, do not use Rubbing alcohol, boil in water or freeze the acrylic jar parts as it may create cracks in the acrylic.
For acrylic parts, either use soap and warm water or other acrylic friendly cleaner."

EDITED because of new information.
Just received this note from Kannastor:

"While ISO is very good at removing residue, it can also be harmful to
fragile components of the GR8TR. For a mild cleaning, soap and warm water
will do fine. If you're looking for a deeper clean, a powdered 420 cleaner
is a safe bet as well. Liquid 420 cleaners are basically just ISO with an
abrasive agent, so be careful to get something non-alcohol based!

Let me know if you have any further questions!"

Eeek.... I never would choose a fragile grinder. A grinder is just one of those items I prefer to be bombproof, not plastic nor brittle. Very off putting comment- I'll stick to my anodized SCS.

Gr8tr is not fragile. The threads unscrew it seems due to residue and cleaning helps, just don't soak the acrylic jar in iso. They also make a metal jar Gr8tr which would not have the same iso restriction. I have the jar Gr8tr (you get 2 grinding plates instead of 1 with the Vape Gr8tr) but have taken out the jar part and itr is the same as the Vape Gr8tr but wth the medium grind plate option in addition to the fine grind plate that comes with the Vape model. Fine is not that fine.

It's a messy grinder that needs to be cleaned a lot to keep peak performance but it's very good when working properly. Most grinders must gum up if you use sticky high thc or high CBD bud.

I was using my Space Case and I realized the O Ring was loose. I'm able to remove it from the grinder and I can even spin it around when it's on. Isn't is supposed to be permanently sealed in? I bought it from Amazon, so I was doubtful about it's authenticity.

Well, if this isn't supposed to happen, I might just throw down the money again for an authentic grinder from PuffItUp (Don't see why they'd be fake there). I'm interested in the Santa Cruz shredders. Aren't those supposed to be better than the Space Case's, or should I throw down for another Space Case?

Mine is doing the same since the beginning and after years of use and cleaning :)
Don't buy another grinder just for this, ask directly to SpaceCase their CS rock :)

My grinder plate on my gr8tr has been unscrewing nits elf and I contacted kannastor and they were very short with me and basically said that happens with this type of grinder to just make sure I always tightened it all the way before grinding and questioned the type of material I was using. It's very off putting for a 80 grinder..oh well I'll keep searching for the perfect grinder.

I have posted on this a few times in this thread. I believe it is a design defect. Make sure you keep everything clean and it will unscrew less. Sticky residue gets in the threads that hold both the grinding plate and the bottom cup preventing them to fully screw together even though it feels tight.

I'm kinda baffled by the loose grinding plate thing in the GR8TR. Hold the body and turn the top counterclockwise. There, now it tightens.

Very possible there are different batches some don't unscrew. Doesn't matter which direction it gets twisted. You are. Lucky you haven't been affected. Still good idea to keep it clean.

My first Gr8tr was unscrewing, but the warranty return doesn't do it.
I think to it's a defect, when you screw it really tight and after a day you found it loose.
If it's not an expected behavior and if it's impact the grinder's performance, ask for a warranty return, I hope they doesn't change their CS, it was good before summer.

My warranty returns were the same. I had 2 of them. Cleaning often might help but is a pain. But it is also a pain when your grinder does a lousy job because the internals have moved and are too loose.
