I just had two back to back sessions (10min) at 355. Nice vapor quality and flavor all the way through. I didn't get any spent flavors. And all that is left of the new odors and flavor is a faint smell if I put my face up to the air intake but no flavor comes through in my sessions.

The only vaporizer I ever used that had a smell too great for me to continue trying was the "Elevape Smart Vape". It had a smell that others could not detect, but it prevented me from using the unit.
I guess we all have a limit.
Sorry to be off topic but I can't believe you here Vitolo! If one unit I received was totally free of smell, it was the ESV. I understand there is many other things you can dislike in the ESV but I bet you are the first and maybe (I think) the last to tell that here. I still appreciate you!

To come back about the Odin topic, i'm still waiting for my unit in the old continent...maybe it will replace my Alfa for the on the go stealth sessions....is there any comparative size pic in this thread?....if not I'll post one of the Odin close of my Alfa and Focus Pro (or something else i get) for size comparison.

I respectfully will disagree. SOME units with aromas MAY off-gas.... period.

Then let's agree to disagree. We might not use the same definition of the term, and it might just be a manifestation of the language barrier as I'm no native English speaker, but you know how the sense of smell works: some molecule(s) detach from the object you smell and go airborne through your nostrils, then bind to your smell receptors somewhere in the sinuses and the back of your throat.

If an object is emitting aromatic molecules then technically it's off-gassing something. Leave it airing long enough and the smell might be gone, be it a piece of food or a manufactured product. But sometimes the smell is so strong it will still be present after several years.

Now I'm not aware of any vape company putting on purpose compounds in their plastic resins just to improve their smell. They don't infuse their plastic with chemical aromas to make it smell better, otherwise they would chose I don't know, chocolate or pineapple... but not something that well, smells like plastic (what it likely is)

It's just a resin polymer with additives, and those additives are plasticizers and other stuff to improve the resin properties (like UV resistance, color, etc)

But you got me wrong from the start: I have strictly no idea whether the one in the Odin will smell when it's new then eventually air out and become neutral afterwards, or not. Chances are it will, like the vast majority of the vapes out there (that "new car" or "robot fart" smell, we know it's likely to go away). I was pointing out that I had a few very precise and concrete examples lately where it was not the case, namely the FlowerMate 8, the Elo and recently the VapeDynamics Duo (but I apparently am very sensitive to these kind of smells)

:peace:

Right on. And let us know if yours has any initial machining/ electronics smells or tastes to it as well. my goboof never gave me any weird taste after only 1 short burnoff that i wasnt sure was even necessary.

Hi, I received my Odin yesterday along with another vape pen called The Torch (for flowers). The Odin get an initial factory/plastic smell/taste, the Torch was odor-free, no weird taste or smell at all.

Although i opened the bowl and after the very long initial charge (+6 hours!) and a short burn-off the smell was still present but so light I decided to test it.

I'll post my full review soon but I can say I still like it even if I'm not sure it is a true convection vape, maybe hybrid for the best but it doesn't work like a true convection vape does.

That's a bit too early to compare it to the Alfa..but i can tell you it is better in some aspects .... but not all of them.

Also would like to see shootout between this and the AirVape XS. They both look impressive and have the features and positive feedback im looking for. Its a tougher time than ever to make a purchasing decision as a discerning vaper

The Airvape's main "advantage" is stealth. If you don't need the stealth than I would go with the Odin, it has gotten good results, is cheaper and since they did not make it super small it has more room to heat without getting any electronics overheated.

Local patient has tried Airvape XS.
He did not care for it, yet he covets my Odin.
I had 2 back to back sessions with the Odin and loved it. I got extremely medicated... as the Odins Vapor path is extremely short, yet the vapor (THICK) stays cool.
The patient with the Airvape XS said that as far as the fan in the Airvape XS... the Puffit Vape performed much better for him.
Discreet Vape makes all 3 Puffit Models.
Puffit Original can be had for $40. Same company has Puffit X for $79 and the Puffit V2 for $99
@PuffItUp also sells these and with the code "PUFFIT" you get $20 off.

Back to the Odin.
For the price it is a great vape, and I am enjoying using it.

After sometimes I'm able to post my review of the Odin.

It comes in a nice box with everything you need for basic dry use. The vape itself is very stealth in color since it's full black without any mark or logo. In term of size...it's palmable if you have large enough hands....so it's not so small. It is rather light cause made of plastic for the most part. There is a storage area just under the bowl (the mp was placed here while unboxing).

Clouds wise performances are very nice, solid clouds even under 380°F and monsters clouds around 410.
Taste wise I experienced the plastic taste issue others members mentionned in this thread, very noticeable for 4-5 sessions (after a 410°F quick burn-off) at every t° and after that I continued to feel it but mainly at +400°F and in the end of the session. It (quasi) totally dissipated after +or- 20 sessions (2 cycles per session). I understand this is could be a big turn down for some people....I never drink a good wine in a plastic container...although here the container is ceramic and the plastic is only coming from the rest.

Heating time is between 40s and 1mn so nothing special here. Battery life is in the average range, around 5-6 sessions (using 2 cycles per session). Charging time is not faster than most.

In conclusion I can say this conduction vape is a cheap but solid choice for an "on the go" option. It offers all the features you need, it's easy to use, produces big clouds and decent taste. Where it shines is how it is conservative with the load, after my 10mn session (with a 410 max t°) abv comes out definitly not blackened like in a lot of conduction vapes, very nice for edibles.

Let me know if you have some questions...

Hoping this post is allowed, I just wanted to let those in Europe that are looking for the fastest way to obtain a Odin know that we now carry this unit. Much like the folks at Puffit we quite like this little vape and have worked with the manufacturer to provide feedback during early testing stages. IMO it is an excellent 'no frills vape' that really delivers.

I own both.
The CFX is faster to heat up, but not by a great deal.
The Odin has a MUCH more free draw.
Odin has a plastic-like essence for the first couple of days but it goes away.
When you use the Odin, leave the bottom trap door open(where the mouthpiece gets stashed) and the plastic-like essence will be gone faster than the couple of days I mentioned.

Calm Consistency
This subconscious act that has happened repeatedly through the afternoon and evening, when I need a portable... tells me that it is outperforming the vapes you mentioned.
Lol I read over this and it seems like something I would say to describe my preference. Well said. It's not always the details, sometimes it's just having faith in your feelings, impulses, and habits...although, that doesn't always help others ... Alas lol.

This unit looks pretty interesting. I haven't been visiting many new threads recently but I read through this one pretty quick, and looks like it could pack a little punch. Might suggest it to a friend who's lookin to get his first portable.

Like many previous on this thread, I'm torn between getting this or the CF for my first vape. I currently have a carbon omnivap, but I'm looking for something that's easier to use in sessions. If battery life and stealth (both looks and smell during/after use) are my main priority, which would you guys recommend I pick up?

Bonus Q: how well does the odin handle small amounts/does it extract as fully as the cf?

Thanks guys :)

i wanted to enjoy the odin, but the unit i had never shook the slightly funny plastic taste/smell - multiple full temp burn offs, maybe 7ish sessions and the essence is as strong as day 1

Try wiping down the chamber and mp storage area, and draw with the air hole door thing wide open, I've read that that should clear the problems. If that still doesn't clear it I will gladly take the unit off your hands and personally inspect it:razz:

Edit: wipe it with iso and a q tip
