Yocan Torch - Best Portable Enail

PPN

Volute of Vapor
The Torch I received doesn't carry anything new except a smart design for water filtration only for bubbler, recycler and bong but not for Hydratubes.

It uses the same QDC attys the Evolve use but with a shorter threading (you can't use your Evolve attys on the Torch base) although the Evolve Plus attys could work but without the cap although I didn't tested this configuration.

It comes with a replacement atty, a metal tube with a sort of carb hole (you have to push to clear hits) and a glass dome to see the vapour. As Vitolo noticed the battery works a bit differently than others, you need to press to power it on and press again to power off, for me it took sometimes and oversized hits (and coughing) to manage this function.

Taste is similar to the Evolve and Evolve Plus does.

Be carefull with 14mm joint cause it can fall of the bubbler easily.

Here a humble pic of it on the top of a large bubbler:

It is a lot more convenient than using an inverted wax pen with all leaking issues if you are not using it carefully. Interesting device if you are all water filtration.

Let me know if you have a question...

this looks pretty sweet for on the go dabs. im curious,

did you have to buy a separate battery? the description sez it is not included.

has anyone tried putting the evolve plus ceramic donut in this unit?

and, can someone please measure the length of the adapter? looks long to me. ty
So I created a account to reply to this thread and you specifically.

I have been using the Cerum Ceramic donut right out the box. It worked great, till my dumb butt broke it. I also was probably putting too much power to it. As I have put a TC mod on it (Nugget 2)

Check out my video on YouTube on it

That's fantastic dude, great video! How did you break your donut? Is 350°F higher than the stock battery's delivery?

I broke it "poking" at it. I saw a black "line" across the donut. I picked at it and it moved. Poof "check atty" message on the Nugget... Im unsure what the stock battery does temp wise. Since its just a push button and go type battery...

And for the record. Those Cerum Ceramic donuts are "rated" 15-25W but as just stated I can atest to it. 25W is too much. But its also just plain too hot. The wax starts to get that crappy burnt flavor.

In temp mode you can set a max W output. So I run it at a max of 15W. Thats simply so I can hold the fire button down longer and not be as concerned with the scorch flavor.

Recently I have been running it in Voltage Mode over Power Mode. Mainly cause I am waiting on replacement donuts to arrive in the mail. This leaves me with the backups of the QDC. In VM I can adjust from 2.6V to 2.7V but in PM I can only go from 13W to 14W. A 1W jump will pump the Voltage up about .6 So to be able to adjust Voltage at a .1 increment, allows me to adjust the Power output by like .5W. And in turn giving me much finer control of how hot the coil gets.

Man. The customer service for Yocan is HORRIBLE!! I emailed them over a week ago when I received my Torch. The glass globe attachment is too big and leaks air into the coil and falls off very easily. I sent Yocan a link to a vid showing this. They responded 1 time saying they would look at the video. No word back from them since, in over a week.

Where did you purchase from? I had the same issue and I contacted the seller, edabsdirect.com, and they are sending me a free replacement glass dome. Perhaps you could try contacting your seller.

Yocan, their CS is actually pretty good, but there is a language and scheduling (lots of national holidays) barrier that can cause challenges sometimes.

I got mine from edabs as well. I just figured they would blame it on the mfg and make me send the whole damn thing back for replacement. Thats what I get for assuming things will go as the have in the past.

Its been nearly 2 weeks since my initial email to Yocan. All I have is a reply saying they would have a tech look at my video I made...

Im gonna reach out to edabsdirect, thanks for the heads up.

Definitely contact E-dabs direct. I have had a issue or two in the past and every time the customer service at E.D.D. go above and beyond.
Yup. I got a reply to my email within about 2 hours I think. Asked for the link to the video I made about the issue, said thats all they needed to fix the issue and that they would take it to Yocan after the fact.

They are sending me a replacement right away, hoping this 1 fits better...

I am finding it easier to gauge proper sized hits by monitoring vapor production in the glass piece with the Torch. Yes, I know. I have an uncanny ability to interpret the obvious. But say, on the Evolve Plus, the hit is so smooth, the next thing you know, you have invoked the Cough Monster. If you prefer not to engage the Cough Monster so much, hit through glass.

just stopped by to say these are less than $30 w/free shipping at FastTech right now. Picked one up and just Wow! Yocan scored with this little number!

Quick, thick hits with everything from CO2 to BHO snap&Pull, Live Resin and even a bit of fresh Rosin me and a buddy squeezed from some nicely cured BlueDream nugs! I'm running it through single perc bubblers and some mid to bigger pieces and it keeps up with all of them though I can barely keep up with the bigger hits!

I'm gonna play around trying to fit some other coils and Nero elements while I wait for the Beta e-nail to show up. Just a nice, inexpensive , seriously functional little piece of kit right here!

So nobody ever tried their pancake coils for dry herb?

Who knows, they might actually work if they manage to keep the herb away from the coil, in a way like some of us are doing with 'the project'?

The Evolve D works similarly the "project" does, I used to use it with a Nano GonG, works well but the main difference is the coil , with the "project" you don't need it to glow to works properly and it is stainless steel, the Evolve-D use a glowing coil made of nichrome I think.

edit: I didn't tried the pancake Torch's coil and I need to check if the Evolve-D coil fit....I think not since the Evolve wax coil doesn't fit (The Evolve Plus atty fit without the cap).

Hey heads up all , I am loving my Torch so much that i rarely use a enail at all anymore. I wanted to bring it to everyone's attention as i am unsure if it was mentioned but the yocan Cerum Ceramic coils and caps fit the Torch with the top that has the carb and offer a bit better taste. I also tried the ceramic donut coils but i am not crazy about them. I like the dual quartz the most for those large hits and it works even better using the ceramic/quartz coil from the Cerum , just be sure if purchasing you order them with caps , as the caps are ceramic also and wont fit the reg coil.

@Chance2Vape How is the Yocan Beta ?

You can also use the evolve plus qdc coils if you want a bigger coil...just sayin but not telling anyone what to do.

I even tried the OG Domewrecker coil I get (dual ceramic coil) with sucess and I need to try the V-One quartz dual coil and donut. IDK which metal the V-One quartz dual coil wire is but it looks different than the Evolve nichrome.

What is this OG Domewrecker coil? gotta link?

Does anyone have a Source 4 or Dabstorm 2.0 to compare with the Evolve Plus? I find myself wanting something a little stronger and more efficient lately. I would love to hear how these devices compare. I was interested in the Divine Tribe as well but I like the sound of coil-less atomizers.

I sure enjoy the Yocan Torch. I use an Itaste Pico TC Mod set at 12.5 watts instead of the supplied battery. Uses the same coils as Evolve Plus. The ceramic coil rocks.

Nice is there a advantage to running it with a mod? I have not tried it yet. I know longer battery life and adjustable voltage. Really wondering what volts the stock battery runs at . I am thinking around 20 watts when fully charged . I kinda like the push button start the stock has . I wonder if at 12.5watts it is lower than stock ? Looks great though nice piece and I love the dyson.

I don't think there is any advantage. I'm just using what I already know how to use. Old dogs can learn new tricks but we're grumpy about it.

I currently have the quartz dual coil installed. The mod claims the coil is 1.83 Ohms. I get very good results at 12-13v watts. Even at 12.5, I appreciate the cap on the coil so that oil isn't flying all around. Every now and then, you have to torch the sides of the coil so that the concentrate on the walls of the coil melt down onto the coils.

Or just scrape the side wall with a dab tool! I find if you are cautious enough not to overload, then this wont even be neccesary for a few days or even a week. The dab tool trick is perfect cause you can just take a real dab to clean it off!
