Torch + Glass

Switching over to something more easily accessed I have been using a Domeless Ceramic Nail and Female to Male glass adapter to achieve the same concept. Inspired by the new StickyBrick revolution.

I believe I got some good shots with the Bronze VaporGenie so expect this post to be updated when that video gets edited and uploaded.

Here it is.

If you use a larger torch and get the nail hotter and then inhale after heating, I believe you could achieve more of a convective heating approach here and avoid butane flame byproducts in your bowl.

One more thing to consider is using a narrower glass section for the bowl.

Place an S & B concentrate pad (talk about the best screen you'll ever get for any kind of concentrate or flowers!) at the bottom of a 14mm male to 18mm female GonG adapter. Put a 18/14mm reducer on top of the concentrate pad so that it holds the pad in place and narrows the 'chamber' diameter. Now pack a reasonably tight 'espresso puck' style load of herb in this 14mm chamber you have made.

Then place a ceramic nail on top of the 14mm female joint (leave space between the bottom of the nail and the load to minimize conduction).

Torch the ceramic nail as you would for dabbing and then inhale afterwards - This should function similarly to a DIY vapcap :D

Please do let me know how this goes, just thought of it on the fly but I have tested this concept with electronic heaters and it works INCREDIBLY.

That sounds like a nice method.

It wouldn't really function like a vapcap as the vapcap is totally conductive and this would be mostly convection.

It actually reminds me a long of the gn0me. I wonder if a TI tip that had a tiny airpath would heat up faster for this kind of preheating convection vape.

I originally purchased the ceramic for that method but prefer the instant heat and don't like bigger lighters.

I have also used a screen in the 14mm end. Very good results but I prefer larger load surface and more thorough extraction from it.

I also have just torched the rounded glass area and got really good results. pretty much anything you can try with this I have.

I will just return to say I just tried the setup I described above with my SiC halo on dnail 1.4 (slim series) base into the 14mm female joint (which I filled about halfway up with ground herb).

I torched the SiC halo until it was red hot and then placed my dnail universal 2.0 carb cap on top.

What I was greeted with was tastier, smoother vapor than I get from my Evo! It was whitewall similar to what the Evo would create too, very thick delicious hit!!!!!!

Give this a shot people! Please do carb the nail you use as this is going to keep the heat and airflow more favorable for vaping.

This is incredible! I don't even think I'll need to use a portable flower vape in future when a rig is handy! No flame exhaust, no accidental combustion (after testing, you can combust if you overload the chamber or keep vaping spent avb at high temps for too long), easy visual feedback on when the nail is hot enough (just get it red lol).

What a way to spend the day!

EDIT: I'll also say that clearly, this will also work with an enail. However you're gonna destroy those heater coils running at such high temps all the time lol

Loving 14mm j-hook with glass tube and Torch. Recommend anyone who wants to cheap out on a convection torch vape try it. Configurations are endless.

E-nail desktop dry herb set up? Dunno what temps they do, but that would be cool.

Just read the last sentence above my comment.... Idiot :/.

This is my own interpretation of the Daisy/OG brick

18 M2M 45 ° with a screen like the 7th floor vape and DBV heater cover
I use it with a bubbler or a 18 mm J-hook

I was just wondering if there was a thread on here for butane inspired diy, very happy to see all the cool ideas!
I started with one of Dave's Underdog direct draw glass stems - five bucks each for seconds and they are pretty sturdy - kept the basket screen in and flipped the stem upside down so I had a longer intake to the bud. It was ok but the feeling of shooting the torch at my hand deterred further testing.
I will definitely be grabbing a nail to test the heat and vape techniques.
