I tried a running a handful of searches, so I'm sorry if this has already been discussed somewhere that I haven't seen, but is anybody able to approximate the maximum wattage of the SSV? I'm curious about using either a car converter or a small generator while camping.

Most generator's will work.
A car inverter 100 will be more than enough.

I might be wrong but one time with my old ssv i pulled the ceramic rod out and read the whole part number did some googling, and could not find the part (one time I found the PDF and i could have sworn it was by kyocera) but it appears to actually be a piece that is included in a 50 watt soldering iron kit.

So @ataxian advice is good as with a 50 watt maximum power then a car inverter that can do 100 will be fine.

I dont have a kill a watt or whatever to measure how much it uses and i sold my ssv anyway, miss it though

I use a Bestek 200w 3 outlet and i have to crank both my Ssv and Enano when i use them. I think i killed my last one different brand way louder not worth mentioning by running both Eq and Enano, So i won't even attempt two desktops on it, But it's much more quiet then the other.


The generators are very loud unless you get a good Honda one or like model, You can also go solar if the Honda generators are in budget. I haven't used any of the high end solar one's myself, So i really couldn't recommend any. I know goal zero makes some decently powered one's.

Long time lurker to this thread.
I want to thanks everyone for your tips and add my current SSV mod (I'm boring with cleaning whip:rant:)
The SSV was my first plug in but the underdog suit my needs as a daily driver. Now i use SSV only when i want to be wreck with his big bowl :freak:

I use a Jhook 18 mm a 14/18mm, MFLB reducer and a M2M 45° 14/18mm. Don't go with the 45° 18/18mm ther is a lip that didn't fit on hte heater cover...

stay vaped

edit: i think i've a DBV GG heater cover on my SSV hope it will work too with SSV Heater cover

So with my versa infinity down I'm back to using my first vape love, the ssv :tup:

I was using the spherical setup when I left off so I started with that; but now I'm back to standard gg with the @DDave mod for super efficient one-hitters, and a second screen for harvesting rosin. Now I feel like I have the best of both worlds with a clean standard wand and a second screen just waiting for rosin.

The @DDave mod can make your ssv good for efficient one-hitters also.

I like your direct draw setup :tup:

How'd that dbv heater cover work out?

Proud new owner of a SSV! I've wanted one of these things for years, but eventually settled with the Da Buddha because of the price point and the thought that I could eventually switch out the heater cover and "customize" it a bit.

Sadly, that isn't possible with the Da Buddha, so I opted for the SSV after a over a year of using the DBV. Got it with the mail yesterday and I don't have a single regret. I already like the standard wand more than ground glass. I have a spherical heater cover on the way for my awesome spherical wand from 7th Floor, curious to see how that hits.

Not sure when they're shipping out my order though, I also bought the heater stand upgrade kit (along with other stuff) since the SSV I bought still uses the old method, and apparently a part of the kit is on backorder. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Congrats on the SSV. It was my first "real" vaporizer and still a favorite among a host of several others. I even have a backup SSV that I bought used locally because I consider it an essential home appliance. Enjoy.

Same here. I added a second hand ssv as well so I can alternate between the spherical and standard setups, and I use the ground glass wand with the DBV. I probably use the standard the most. Definitely an essential appliance, though my spouse disagrees that it belongs in the kitchen.
