Cheers guys good to know it's just me, now I'm thinking maybe it's my packing.
Mouthpiece is clean of course I should have added that.
I'm currently using it with a recycler which has a small mouthpiece but fairly open flow, I've tried it with a few other pieces.
When it's empty it's way better so obviously I'm getting all excited & just shoving too much in there.

Since I received my Hopper a few days ago, I got the blue and red lights of death a few times but then if I just wait for say an hour or so, it works as it should again. I think this is odd and no one on here had those r&b lights to occur only temporarily, right? The heater also started making a quiet noise whenever it is heating up.

For the time being I don't mind not having a reliable unit since I have a vaponic as a backup. Sending it back to the reseller for a new unit is still going to be possible once I am back in Germany so I don't rush it at the expense of international shipping and the risk that comes with that. If I knew, chances are high that I would get a reliable unit, I might change my mind on that, though. However, do you think the Grasshoppers are going to be more reliable in a few months' time? My current unit's number is in the 2000's so I suppose it has been manufactured not too long ago.

Since you are clearly quite sensitive to heat, why not open the sides of your mouth a bit to draw in a mix of cool fresh air? This is exactly how I used to smoke J's in the past.

Just that the only downside to packing a full chamber is flavor. I don't think your advice is "wrong" per se, but to me it sounds like advice from someone primarily hitting through water. To me it makes the vapor much hotter to the point that its dangerous. I don't disagree with any of your other specific points.

Ever watched "Man versus Food" on cable, he eats food so hot you could ignite with a fart!!

Different kind of hot and one that I enjoy very much, though maybe not at that scale. ha

I want to stop whining and instead finding solutions. My first glass sleeve is in and it's promising. I'm going to take a few days off from the GH to make sure I'm not just desensitized after eating fire. I also ordered a pinnacle pro hydro tube. If it comes down to that being required for me, the GH could still be pretty badass.

Mine was having that issue too and it is in the 2700's. I think they are now shipping ones around 3400++. I got mine from Ebay so I am sure it was older.

It gave me red and blue lights but then hours later it worked for 1 or 2 rips, and then later the same day I got the errors again. The next day it worked once or twice then errors again. All between cleaning the batteries, contacts, and threads multiple times. The error has gone on and off for a couple days and I got tired of putting so much effort into just getting it to work, so I am just done with it until they accept my warranty request and I can send it back in. I am fine with needing a little maintenance but I need a reliable device when I am out on the go

So... I just got the Livescribe (leather) case to supplement @Ratchett's leather case for the gh.

The Livescribe case is just okay, and will serve its purpose as a case for only the gh (and nothing else). But it doesn't hold a candle to the @Ratchett case...not even close. The difference in quality of materials is HUGE!

So thanks again to @Ratchett for bringing us only the finest!

The more I pack in, the more restrictive it becomes. Remember the vapor comes out of a very small hole.

Drop them an email giving them the order number and that its batteries only. Seems that battery only orders don't get immediately picked up to come out of the whole vaporizer order queue and if you drop Caroline a note that will make it happen. Or it did for me.

Yet says on their facebook page (which is full of complaints) that they usually answer messages within minutes :mad:. May be worth a try on there, but begs the question why would they respond to facebook messages quicker than via e-mails/warranty requests.

Oddly enough, I had also emailed Caroline about 6 days ago to ask about that "clicking sound", and also to see what was up with "red light flashing upon tapping gently to get ABV out" (paraphrasing issue); I haven't heard back from her, so, three days ago I put this request to the Warranty section. Nothing yet.

I sure as hell hope they are getting way less back than they have shipped, especially since they're "greatly increasing production" as they tell us every month.

That sucks, sorry to hear that. I ordered 3 batteries myself a couple days ago, I guess I shouldn't expect them anytime soon. I might actually get my preordered hopper first. :lol:

It would be great if they could hire an extra customer support person in addition to the new members of the assembly team.

One extra person working full time answering emails would make a huge difference to the customer service experience.

Keep in mind that it's summer. It could be that Caroline is getting a well-deserved vacation and there's no one to backfill her job. Not good for us but that's how it sometimes goes in small businesses. There's one person who performs a particular function and of that person is gone, so's the function.

There's something strange about the hopper I've had mine for five months now and it seams to be working better than ever ,no over vape has stressed me so mutch as the hopper it's so good the mere thought of it failing is so scary
I'll be lost with out it

exactly.... it is your packing... I would try to fill it half full...mentioned a lot in this thread....

Interesting I have sent 4 emails to support@grasshoppervape.com and still NOTHING!! It has been a week now. I will try the other contacts but I think its really bad service and hope I dont have to send my units back for any reason because I could be waiting a long, long time. Hope they have not gone belly up already?

Also, is it okay to clean any part of the hopper AND battery with 91% iso?

Have you emailed back and forth with them before? Have you checked that there aren't emails getting caught by a spam filter or similar?

I haven't had to email them for a while now, thankfully, but I always have gotten quick replies when I did.

Tried Support, Caroline , Trevor email address but I did get a response via FB (dont like the way the world is heading lol)

I do not know the nature of the composition of the battery, but it sure doesn't seem to be Lithium Ion. If so, then it's typical that you have to run down the battery fully between charges.
But without knowing exactly what it's made of, that will likely be a question GHL can only answer accurately.

I too have been waiting for a sign of life on both my email(s) to Caroline and my Warranty Request, and hearing that they're active on FaceBook is, well, it's just wrong.

IMHO, The weakest link in the chain is the battery. If GHL doesn't have a solid source (and second-source) of supply for it, there will be plenty of FB posts for Trevor to read while he's sipping tequila by the pool.

I don't use FB (I call it Assbook).
Has anyone posted on FB to simply ask, WTF is going on with the dropped communications?!

They are lithium ion batteries. Or at very least claim to be, they say so on the side of the battery

It's actually a good thing for battery health, the main things to avoid are keeping the cells full/empty while not being used for extended time as at full (4.2v) charge the cell is under stress and will loose capacity faster than at a storage charge (3.6-3.8'ish), also once the GH shows empty (red lights) the resting voltage of the cells are an ideal storage charge so kinda half full.
